I have to ask because I keep seeing video game news about games going gold and platinum, what does gold and platinum mean?

Gold means the game is finished and sent to the DVD press to be made into the final product.  

Platinum means the game as sold over a certain amount.  Im pretty sure its a million.

i called EB a few days ago, and the lady said halo2's already gone platinum just with the number of pre-orders.

No MS cleared up the preorder #'s two days ago. Its closer to 750,000 but thats is still an ass load and it is still rising.

Um, alright. And there was going to be delay?? Honestly, when Bungie invests money in advertising for a November 9th release date, it will happen. So, Halo 2 being finished was inevitable.

Hell, i even pre-ordered it.  Collector's edition for $40 shipped with tax, beat that wink.gif

Definately worth buying for Xbox Live... I am actually signing up for XBL just for this game, and I'm sure many others will as well.

yeah dude me too i dont care....this is the only game I need for X box live......used xbconnect for that usually.........I have a wireless connection so im worried about the lag though......i hope the connection will be lag free when I finally get xbox live.......im actually going to uppgrade my chip also so I have a less chance of being banned.......all in time for HALO 2......

EB is doing a special midnight opening for an hour or so on November the 9th, so I figure the game is coming out on the 9th

Yeah, I don't wanna brag but:

EB Games Halo 2 Collector's Edition: $54.99

EB Games tells me that I can bring in ANY ps2, xbox, or gc game to help pay off my pre-order at $10 per game (plz note this is ymmv since the in-store ad said select games)

5 games from Circuit City: $4.96 each + 8.25% sales tax
26.85

Now the game is $4.99 and there is no tax on the $50 taken off by traded games so game after tax will be $5.40.

After all is said and done I spent a total of 32.25 and I get to pick it up at midnite... Mwa hahaha?
