The current offer for the PSP being plugged is £149 if i get one of these and a 1 gig mem card, is it hackable?

if its new packaging, then its probably 2.1+ firmware (most likely 2.6), which as of now is not hackable... you can run some emulators and homebrew, but you will not be able to run game ISO's.
if however its just a new deal and same old packaging, then your chances are slim but you may be able to get a 2.0 or less firmware.
