Title: Why Does My Xbox Lockup When Loading Apps?

Why when i try to load an application on my xbox with the network/Internet cable plug into the back, does it sometimes lockup the application i am trying to load. This does not happen if i dont have the cable plugged in to the back! Is this a know problem and is there a way around it?
