wouldnt the people we would presumably be slaves to be above us? thus making it unequal? equality entails freedom, assuming equality for everyone...

agreed.
These poll results sure are interesting considering the political breakdown of this forum.
Before I say anything, do you mind explaining that a little bit better?

After more people have voted.
If you're going to illustrate the relative value of freedom and equality, freedom is naturally the more important of the two.
Find someone here who believes that only one is important, Nemt, and we'd have actually interesting results.
Finding balance isn't a cop-out, it's just the most rational option.
I think only one matters honestly.
Equality doesn't exist, in my opinion it can't. If everyone was equal there would be no personal identity.
Communism didn't work too well. If everyone was equal, then there would be nothing to strive for. That's why capitalism works, we're not supposed to be equal. There is supposed to be crack heads and stupid people, it's balance and the food chain

I love you, suck on that gronne.
Naturally, you're right. Pure equality is a mistake. Conversely, so is anarchy.
What purpose do you think laws have? They (supposedly) balance these freedoms with rights that we should all share.
Unless you're an anarchist. That'd be a different issue altogether.
That was basically my point about equality.
