Title: Premium Content
Post by: rAph on June 10, 2004, 10:52:00 AM
Hey, I bought SC:PT and love the game, especially multiplayer. I've played so many games online, however, I have to stop playing because I'm now in my summer home with no broadband. I'm really upset because I was looking forward to the two new maps that are gonna be released in a few days.  I was wondering if it would be possible for my friend to send me a cd with the 2 maps and I be able to play them in the tutorial mode, so that I can explore the mall and bank and get used to the map so when I go home I will already know all the hidding places. I'm guessing the maps will be locked to one specific xbox, but will there be a way to resign them to a different EEPROM? I really don't want to wait 3 months to explore these new maps!! Thanks.

I am also looking for information on how to transfer premium content from 1 xbox to another, my friends and I play 4 player system link, and paying 20 bucks for 2 maps is kinda bull. I doubt it is just something you can copy from hard drive to hard drive, I'm sure m$ put some sort of lock or encryption on it, so you cannot transfer it. If anyone has looked into this please reply, I really want to play these maps!

wen u transfer the files theres always a risk of curruption which happened wen i was puttin old hdd stuff on a new one and many of the maps i downloaded were unplayable. ive never tried an xbox-xbox transfer so i wouldnt know. I thought the 2 maps were guna be like only 5 bucks together. sort of like the mechassault premium content downloads.

Well, just so there is no confusion, both maps come packaged for the price of $5.00. I said $20 because I would have to pay for it on each xbox. 4 xboxes multipled by 5 dollars is 20 bucks. I'm not interested in paying 15 extra dollars for content I already paid for.

I was looking around and asking questions at another forum, and was told that the maps would be hacked and released so they would work on any Xbox (just like the PGR2 booster maps) but they probably wouldn't work online. So it should be possible to play LAN games with these hacked maps, but not on Live.

XS is here to discuss hacking, not where or how to get such content other than Xbox Live. Thus, some posts have been deleted

Alright Guys,
I've just figured out how to copy the 2 new multiplayer maps, for all those, who didn't get it yet, I gonna explain it (it's very easy)

Requirement:

-The Game has to be on your HDD, otherwise it won't work

-the $c Folder from E:\TDATA\55530019\ is needed

Alright, here we go:

- open any FTP programm, load the $c folder from you xbox HDD onto you PC
 HDD.
- now you take all files, that are in this folder, and copy/paste them onto (e.g.smile.gif
your second xbox, in the following game directory of Pandora Tomorrow:

 GameDirectory(PandoraTomorrow)/system

- If you've just played SC2, delete the Cache on x,y,z partitions, restart and have
fun with your maps on systemlink smile.gif

Best wishes, Floo aka revello

Yes, x-s is not a place to trade copyrighted software souch as maps or any games or downloadable content. Now you can ask for specific question on how to make them work, where and how you get them it is not of anybodys buissiness and all you'll get is probably an erased post or your expulsion from the forum.

Check the http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act=SR&f=4 and respect them and everything should be fine.

rAph, I didn't think anyone had yet found a way to play the paris tracks from PGR2 on a different xbox without it crashing? The extra cars work fine, but not the maps.

Has someone found a way to do this now? Sorry about the OT post, feel free to PM me the answer.

Well, eventually I just caved in and purchased the maps for 3 of my boxes, and have one of them on my modded box, so I guess it's all good. Too bad you can't take the downloaded levels from one of the other boxes and make them work on the modded box, damn eeprom encryption.

this may be a stupid comment, but, when you buy the game, you can download it as much as you want, with the account that you used to pay for it, right?

so why not just put that live account on a MU, and use that account to download the content onto other boxes

I'm pretty sure the downloading program will check the Xbox's eeprom to make sure it's not being downloaded on a different Xbox.

Revello, what happens when you try to sign in XBL with the maps that were copied over from a different Xbox? As soon as I get back to my cable connection I will buy these maps to play on XBl, but out of curiosity I would like to know.

hi raph!

Alright, it's the same thing as with those Paris Cars in PGR2.
The problem with xbox live is, that xbox live boots your game from dvd drive, that means, the xbox takes all necessary informations/files from your original dvd and the downloaded content from your savegame (on your hdd).

so, the only way to play the new maps, WHEN you didn't get the maps via XBOX LIVE DOWNLOAD, is to copy them FROM to your gamedir (on HDD) where the full game is located = if you start your game from dvd, it won't show the new maps, because those maps are only stored, as i said, in the gamedirectory of the fullgame on your hdd.
you can only start those new maps with modchip, gamestart from hdd, = no xbox live.

I hope i did describe that easily to understand smile.gif

Forgive if it sounds stupid or something

When I had the problem of getting the DLC from PGR2 (Paris & cars) onto my other xboxes, i found that if you use a memory card to transfer the gamertag across, you can goto DLC on another console, and the content already says purchased.  So it seems that M$ don't mind you putting it on another console.
The only problem is if you have a TSOP'd xbox with no original bios on board

I deleted all the movies and various single player content until I had a fully functional multiplayer-only xbox pandora tomorrow on my harddrive.  It was just over 100MB.  The actual Games are tiny, but music and especially FMV makes a game gigantic.  I'm surprised that 2 maps are 30MB, too, only I think that's too big.  They must have made a bunch of new textures.

you realize this topic has been dead for almost 2 years, right?  Last post date before yours was 7/04. and if your talking about having signatures to make dlc work, that can and has been bypassed also.  "non native" dlc can work by editing default.xbe.  where you get the dlc is banned topic matter.

i didnt really bother going back to read 2 pages of a 2 year old thread to know exactly what was asked though.
