Title: R63 Hacking... Game Files. Not Profile.sav
Post by: ...ReLLiK on January 25, 2004, 02:04:00 PM
New Topic For Editing Rainbow Six 3 game files. Like xboxdynamic.umd, xboxufiles.umd, and such.

The topic RS3 Hacking was getting full of junk posts about people not figuring out how to modify the profile.sav file.
This is not to be discussed in this thread. This is not a flame thread either. If you can't help or figure anything out here then don't post.

Post any hacking finds here and discuss what has or has not worked.

getting ready to head to work, but I have messed with the dynamic file too. There is some crazy stuff that can be done. I have had some luck changing things that are numeric values, but yet no luck with true/false changes.

I was looking through some of the files and it *looks* like the terrorists could be on teams/follow your orders. If you could take the data that is used on your teammembers in single player, add it to some terrorists, move them on ur spawn, take the normal terrorists and move them on the other spawn, you could have team survival with AI

not sure yet how i will do this, or even if it is possible

post back when i have more answers

raid, ive been looking into that a lot lately. It may be possible, tho i would have to re-code about 300 lines. It would probably take me like a month But i could get it done. So far ive been able to get terrorist to use 3 differnt kinds of guns and switch between them when they run out of ammo in a round. And also make them charge me with molotov cocktails.

To make any single player map multi player just make a copy of the map rsm and tga with _MP after the map name just like the multiplayer maps. example (Penthouse_MP.rsm) I did this for every tga in all of the lang folders but prob dont need to. Some of the maps only worked if I made an .ini file for it and the best way to do this was to make a new text file name it Penthouse.ini and copy the contents of the garage.ini into the text file. Then rename the where it says garage at the top to Penthouse_MP and at the bottom change garage to penthouse. Like I said everyone will spawn in the same spot and it tends to leave some stray terrorists around untill someone help me to change this. Also I gave up and didnt test all of the maps because of the spawn problem and the map name will have extra text but will show up in the mp map list.

nice find, does it work on Xbox live?

Is it just me, or is most of the Xboxdynamic.umd code just junk left over from Raven Shield on PC?

worked on xlink but not sure about live and i had to send the files to the guy i tested with so he could join my room

Oh, so if it were to work on live we could only do it with other people who have the map file. Where did you find the garage.ini file? I looked everywhere in the cache and in the game folder, but I can't find it.

I'm having some trouble editing the xboxdynamic file. Has anybody successfully changed something like "The Round is a Draw" or a weapon description? When I try to edit them it always locks up about 75% loading the game. It would be kind of funny to change those messages that the game gives you.

So does every level you want to bring to multiplayer need an ini file or just some?

Not sure if every level needs the ini but since it took such little effort i did it for all the ones i tested. Since everyone spawns in same spot i stopped testing all of the maps. copter is right they are not very good unless someone comes up with how to change the spawn points. i like the terrorist problem because it causes a distraction but they can still kill you.

I have also tried to use the extra maps from rb6 ravenshield for the computer version but they dont seem to work. they are approx the same size and same file types but somewhere they are a little different. if someone could figure out if something could be changed to make them run on the xbox it would give us a lot more maps. I think some are made by clans so maybe we could use the level gen software for xbox.

it is possible the map spawn points could be changed or added with unrealed 3.0 but since i dont have it i cant try and from what i have found this is what is used to make ravenshield maps.

Pieces i think there are checks on the maps for xbox,  not sure where but i'm sure that they are there somwhere.  Anouther problem (can't spell) there is a diversity of way to go in the multiplayer maps but in the single playered ones theres only one way, good in the way if there like 1 on 1 but bad because there is only one way to go to fight each other.

That would be alright if you were playing Cat and Mouse on live though. Maybe somebody could make a program like SparkEdit for Halo, which allows you to move spawns and stuff, but that's probably too hard.

I still can't seem to edit the Xboxdynamic file at all and have it work. Is there some sort of resigning I need to do or am I just messing it up.

now if you think about it i don't think its the xbox dynamic that controlls spawn its somewhere hidden within the map files i'll post as soon as i find it because i'm looking trust me sleeping.gif  uhh.gif ,  It has to be cordinate related Ex. X 0230123 Y 03129273.  That is showing an X and Y cordinate much like a map, somewhere in the map files is where the spawn would show like this.

Any more questions [email protected]

P.S.

My Aim is no longer copter64 its Copter87 due to an Aol to AIM Switch sorry, but i still have the maps to download  biggrin.gif

1.) I have edited the xboxdynamic file successfully. Nothing useful yet though. It does seem there is a lot of USELESS junk code in there.
2.) I don't see any .ini files.
3.) I am going to mess with UnrealEd 2 and 3 to see which engine this was derived from.
4.) I tried a UTX viewer and it didn't COMPLETELY read a .utx texture file correctly. The pictures of texture were tagged for most of them correctly but the image was scrambled.
5.) Maybe this site can help us a little? You may need to register!

Keep on hacking! For me my biggest key is free time. Not much of that here. But yet I don't squeeze all it in to here. Need to fit life in there somewhere! ROFL

But what if we edited the cache files instead of the ones in F:GamesRS3 or something. I would try it, but I can't get the other levels to work.

I'm not sure how useful this is, but this site has some good info on Raven Shield and how to make maps in UnrealED. Also has a few links to maya, gmax, and 3DS max to unrealED converters. Just need to find UnrealED 3 to see if this site has any worth in making or editing xbox maps.

The ones you can edit.... if you upload them back.... they do not appear correctly in the game. They become almost black and white (kinda like a sepia) and upside down! I modded my loading TGA file. I just used photoshop cs and then flipped it before I saved it, then uploaded it. Now it just shows up without all the colors! But looks cool.

maybe saving it in CMYK and passing the NTSC color filter before saving it will do the trick

Is that the Splash.tga file? I can't find any other TGA's I can open besides the hourglass ones. I was also looking at all of the dds files which are pretty much all for Raven Shield.

I really wish I could get rid of the beginning movies like just go from Loading Screen->Main Menu instead of Loading Screen->UbiSoft movie->Red Storm Movie->Intro Movie->ESRB Notice-> Main manu.

thers soo much that can be done with this game.i have found out that 3 main ini files in the system folder for the game are copied from the xboxdynamic.umd file everytime you load.i have been messing around with this file for the last few days and no matter what i edit then change the file format back to a umd it doesnt fuckin load.i am stuck, and besides all the bullshit thats in this file thers soo much that can be done with this game.besides the aspect of people using this knowledge for cheating(which ther are many ways to do if u can get any newly edited xboxdynamic.umd file to load)but i am pretty sure you can also have the 3 other squad members from the mission mode in team survival as well as the terrorists heres i think the terrorists codes but i could be wrong.I would really appreciate anybodys help with making a custom xboxdynamic.umd file to load, anyways here are the offsets or whatever you want to call them(i think it may be as easy as just adding this text to one of peices ini map files but not sure)
