Title: Having Trouble Getting Hacks To Work

tried editing with hex editor... tried to go to replace then when i tried to type in $ wouldn't let me.. am i supposed to put a number in there? or do a text replace?? tried to do a text replace of $U with $A xbox wouldn't load it.
