I don't know about you guys, but most geeks, like me, have old hard drives lying around not doing anything. So i was wondering if there is a way to modify any old 40gb hd that i have to make it work in a PS2. Is anyone doing this yet? It probably only involves putting an compatable image on the drive, but i'm not sure is you need some type of install disk as well. Can someone point me in the direction of people working on this?

This is all new to most and since the hard drive compatibility list is very near to none its hard to say. check out the ps2 equal to xbox scene ps2 dev or ps2 newz pinned in this section if anything goes right with ps2 modding it is posted there for sure..
its only a matter of time im sure we will have to wait see ;)

I want to say this is possible, can't do much with it though, you need the network adapter i think so you can take it apart.
