If your going to mod just the multiplayer maps only load those. Cuts down on the size a good bit.

correction!
every since the release of halo 2, newer, more newb freindly tools (dot halo, ADI, ch2r) have been released, that can also be used with halo 1.

dont take it for granted tho, i remember the pain of hex editing. these tools make it UBAH easy.

also, there is a tool called halo cache editor. you can edit the caches on your xbox.

Just don't expect a super advanced mod with the tools out... Hex editing can do things the current tools can't.

yah, hex editing can do much more advanced stuff, but most kids just want to change projectiles and do different sounds and such.

Well, I shouldn't say that, people loved that Multiplayer Simulation I did a while back, and that was all with HMT... Anyway, use the already made programs untill they bore you, then move up to the advance stuff wink.gif

you see, tools such as Dot Halo for example, are limited becuase all they really do is around 2-3 things.

they

1. swap offsets
2. extract meta
3. inject meta

with a hex editor, you have much more control over what you edit becuase you can do more than those 3 things. you can change everything from geometry to the phsyics. perhaps when these programs become more advanced, more expierenced modders will use them, but all the modding "pros" use hex editors. but Dot halo and such is more than enough for the average modder.

Oh, So like, Whats something specific I could do... because I can't think of anything. I'm not too creative. Could I perhaps make a headless mc or something with hex :| If thats possible... I'm switching over.
