Title: Whats Wrong With My Injected Edited Bitmaps?

I extract a bitmap with HMT3.5 and edit it in adope photoshop 7

I like, take a grunt and color his eyes red
I save as, a copy, DXT1, or something, and it says injection succesful, when I play the game, the character looks funny, he looks wireframy from a distance then like a waffle up close, WTF?!

can anyone help me?
