Title: Carrying Multiple Guns In Halo

I know double guns is not possible but would it be possible to carry around a third gun? Like shoot AR, switch to pistol, then switch to shotgun or sniper rifle. Or is it hard coded in? It seems possible since you can carry two, so maybe the only carry 2 guns rule can be broken, like a address in HEX or something. Just an idea, I can't say much but i can give some good ideas.

YEAH!!! i remember that, i even tried it, you have to get to where the grunts are after talking to the captiain on the bridge before the checkpoint is triggered. maybe this will help give the hackers and modders some stuff to go on. thanks.

First level

Keys gives you the pistol

As soon as you have control of MC again run as fast as you can to the grunts and make turns as fast as possible

since you went so fast that you skipped the checkpoint, you never get your pistol

there will not be grunts

go through door and grab assault rifle

go into chayos and grab a dead persons gun (any gun will do for now, you can always swap it later)

now go back to keys, and then go back to where your supposed to go

you will pass the checkpoint where you get the pistol, but since you already have 2 weapons, you get the pistol added to your inventory also and you now have 3 weapons that you can cycle through

the grunts will be there now, so kill them and go through the door as normal and go through the game as normal

sounds very posibble. i would try 2 help but i duno anything about halo editing or hex.

YES, another vote of confidence! Thanks maniac, i would really appreciate it also if you would relay the idea to other modders across the scene, that way we could get some info and ideas flowing. More than likely it will be something like a trainer addition, crazy nation might be able to help also but I don't know where to contact them.

yo this would be realy hot if it was pulled off..its been talked about for a very long time. but i do think i saw something in the xbe about all weapons (im pretty sure) but i could be wrong.

thanks for the input xorange, you are a great help to this endeavor. I hope to see more people work toward a solution. BTW don't forget to ask for crazy nation's help since they made a trainer.

this mod is probably more hardcoded than anything. It is some sort of hex value, anyway. It almost has to be in the default.xbe. I am going to see if I can contact crazy nation about their trainer and what they think.
By the way, I plan on keeping up with this until I figure out whether or not it is doable.

good idea. If it were possible to reproduce that glitch in others levels or inject it would prove useful especially in multiplayer. I believe that the way xorange is going about doing this is probably the best, we'll just have to mess with the code until we find something. I am still thinking about the overall checkpoint with the weapon idea.

Now if I remember correctly, a while back mastertito4 completely ripped apart the default.xbe, and found out all kinds of weird crap, like messages that the developers left in. Anyway, if anyone knew if it was stored in the default.xbe, I'd say contcat mastertito4. And good luck on this.

sorry guys I have been out over easter break from school. But to catch up, great news vexter, at least thanks for some info. I haven't heard from mastertito yet. Dont know if I ever will, but I plan to e-mail him aswell if I don't get an answer soon.

great, we need all the help we can get. Right now I was thinking about reviewing the hex of the .xbe but I need a viewer which I don't have. I think that we should look in the POA map as well as the default.xbe. Try looking for references to POA in the xbe. But I think that it is contained in the map file. It would have something to do with the weapon count or something.

just some info, it seems there is some sort of varient of xbox map rebuilding out right now by allister,pokecancer, and friends. It seems they have converted the maw SP level to MP on xbox, but edited the BSP or mesh of the level to put in their own stuff. so basically creating a level from scratch and using the maw SP level as a template with almost everything deleted. Building blocks were inserted and a new level was born from their creation. I plan on working with this to try and mess with POA or get some help with it. Anyway, any progress or info found out by anybody about the double gun idea?
