Title: Hacking Games... Halo/doa3
Post by: cypher35 on February 12, 2004, 05:18:00 AM
for halo, as far as i'm aware, you can only edit things that have been brought from the cache into one of the temporary drives (X, Y, and Z) for more info visit halomods (sorry, can't remember the exact url)

but with DOA3 and DOAX, the changes you make are perminant untill you maunally remove them.  You can add skins to doa3 without editing/copying the game simply by ftping a single file into your e drive.  I won't go into detail here, 'cause there is a lot to explain, but you can get any info you need from ninjahacker.net's forums.

we're always looking for more doa skinners... here is some stuff we've done so far: http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=171551

i'm not quite sure what you mean here, but if you are talking about replacing the skins that come already on the game, you can do that too...  but then you'd have to run it off of your hard drive and not the game disk.  I'm pretty sure you can achieve this by replacing a skin in the ".afs" with one you want instead.

you can have up to 9 skins per character (including those that come with the game though, so depending on the cahracter you add skins to, you may have less space if they have more default skins like kasumi)

seriously? For halo, if you can edit whats in the cache, why cant you edit what goes into the cache before its there... *scratches head* Id love to see a reverse engineered standardized multiplayer perfected version of halo floating around that people could take advantage of on xbconnect or whatever... as for the doa3 skins, i know i followed your link. there is some amazingly cool stuff in there!!! I might just tinker around with it but i have noooo idea what im doing or how to do it. ill look into it smile.gif too bad you cant keep multiple skins on top of the normal ones sad.gif but i guess if you end up with something you really like, it doesnt matter. just have to keep a back up copy of the original skins huh tongue.gif
