Title: Hce V0.4

k looking all good
so I'm gonna release in a few houres/minutes
if it still crashes, put a debug.ini file in HCE folder
start again
load level etc do the same
then press Y
it'll crash again sad.gif
restart
get the DebugInfo.txt file in the HCE folder
send it to me ([email protected])
please include which region/map name

btw, perhaps a inbuilt ppf patcher for ppl who want to take patches from this thread and put it in a seperate folder for easy patching / updates would be a good idea smile.gif

Awesome.  That's what I was looking at too.  I would love to see that on XBOX because if I ever get my internet up again I am going to start releasing hacks as PPF patches.  Maybe I can line someone up to convert them to PAL and other maps too.

In order to use flying Ghosts and warthogs in Halo Cache editor v0.4 simply copy the above code into a text document and call it bloodgultch.ini and replace the file in the maps folder with it.

In order to allow the vehicles to fly go to the ghost no hover or warthog no hover page and select each option to equal itself ( double hit A on each option) to turn the flying off go to vehicle standard and do the same on those pages

k, a suggestion for the next next version smile.gif

would it be possible to add a feature such that

1. on two to four xbox's, everyone selects lanplay and inputs the options they want, wait for the cache to save and then exit
2. a person modifies the cache they want on HCE, which automatically detects the file as supporting lanplay
3. after saving, HCE uses limited ftp features to modify the cache on the other connected xboxs to exactly match the original one and therefore support lanplay

This, of course, is assuming what others have said about how lanplay should work withthe same exact modified cache files, but ive yet to find someone who tested it

I've done it.  We had 4 boxes hooked together and I modded the cache on so that there were about 40 warthogs in blood gulch.  I replaced all of the weapons with warthogs as well which has the effect of making there be no weapons in the game.  The only way to kill people was to run them over.  You can't even melee someone since you don't have a weapon.  I set up a custom game called "Jeep Joust".  It was first one to 10 kills, every man for himself, all vehicles (Which had all been changed to Warthogs), respawn immediately.  I ftped this cache file to all 4 boxes and hosted a system link game on the one where I had the "Jeep Joust" set up.  We had 12 people spread across the 4 boxes.  I thought that the 40 hogs would cause bad frame rates, but it was actually pretty good.  It was probably the most fun of any game I've played.  (And I've done a lot of system link games).  You would have to make someone else roll and then run them over before they could grab another jeep (and there were a lot around to grab).  I highly recommend trying this.  Maybe I'll put together a patch for it.  We also tried a variation of this with teams, which was also fun, but "Jeep Joust" definitely took the cake.

Andy_0113, is it just me or is warthog flying very glitchy (can't get off ground, hard to move or turn) and when i exit i end up on the halo ring? This is why i did not include warthog flying in this ini i posted.

For some reason, in assault on the Control Room, only part of the projectiles show up. Most of them dont, even when everthing only has one space...

I dont get why.

The flying warthog works great.. you just have to give the warthog the ghost's physics in that little physics section... then it'll take off like a pro..

Have you guys noticed that on bloodgulch most of the changed projectiles work, but some dont.  for instance... if i change pistol to say rockets and save it, then reopen, it has reverted back to pistol.  However if i change sniper to rockets on projectiles it stays...  SO you cannot change the projectile of the AR or pistol(maybe others, thats just what i noticed)

I never had that problem.. I've had pistols fire rockets, tank shells, even charged plasma bolts.. maybe you forgot to save it before you hit start? either that or the hex #'s in your bloodgulch.ini are f$ked..

I swapped these in HCE

wel it locks up if you feed it too many pages (like th emaps i sent you (i know you are adding more pages but just telling you overflowing will freeze it))

one cool thing you could add to the next release of HCE is like a calculator that changes the NTSC offsets to PAL.
i was reading somewhere on the forum that in order to change the NTSC offsets to PAl all you need to do is add 4000 to the code.
could you make that?
