Okay, people. I've been looking at these goddamned map files for a while now. Does anyone have any clues to how 14mb decompresses to almost 700mb? Its fucking mind-boggling. I was studying the xbe, and I think it could be checked out with some Huffman Decompressers. Anyways, let me know what your ideas are, or if you have anything to say.

search for a tool from PfhorSlayer, only mac version works yet
HaloHacker is working on complete packer/unpacker version
btw when only using 14meg ui.map file the data in the cache files are like uhm they don't have much data in it
when you use all the files, you'll see that there is much more "different" stuff
but cachexxx.map size are always the same, fixed size
last parts are alot nullchars
so it's not really 14 -> 700

Ahh. I see. Then, what exactly was it close to? Zip?

700 MB? I am getting like 258MB in my cache000.map and cache001.map. Maybe something the xbox file system does to make it appear smaller... dunno.
