Can a 1.1 motherboard replace a 1.0 motherboard and work fine.

Yes, but if your hard drive was locked, and you dont have the old eeprom image off the old board, you'll need a new hard drive (unless you want to desolder the eeprom off the old board and put it on the new board, there's tutorials on how to do that)

other than that, no problems at all..
