This question has been floating around alot lately, and seeing as I have nothing better to do, I just figured I'd make this short tut.
So, you want to know how to make your weapons huge and CARTOONISHLY oversized?? Here's how!
What you need:
First, you need the one tool that no Halo hacker should be allowed to live without, Halo Map Tools 3.0 (find if yourself ).
You also need Milkshape, which you can find yourself also! GET OFF YOUR ASS NEWBS!!
Ok, first real step. Open up HMT 3.0 and your map along with it (I'll use Bloodgulch Xbox for this tuturial). Once your map is opened, pick a weapon and export all or most of its LOD's (or Model Types for you big newbs; for this tutorial I'm using the flamethrower):
Once you've exported all of the models you feel confortable with, open up Milkshape and import your models in whichever order you see fit:
Now select all of your vertices (they will change to red) and look over at your toolbar. Select 'SCALE' from the top section of the tools:
Go down to the blanks below and in the blanks above the X, Y, and Z coordinates, put 4.0 into the blanks, then click SCALE.
If done properly, your model should have quadrupled in size! Export your model, inject it back into HMT, save your map and your done! ENJOY YOUR NEW HUGE ASS FRIKK'N WEAPONS BABY!!

yea........or you could just highlight everythng and go to tools, scale all... and then change it to like 500 and your gun will be like 500 times the size.
not dissing you just telling an easier way
otherwise it looks pretty good

Why in the hell would you want a weapon 500 times its original size? That'd take up half if not more than half of Bloodgulch itself... a weapon 3, 4, 5, maybe even 6-10 times its own size is funny/new/cool, but one 500 times larger...have you ever hauled a building 40 times as big as your house? That's pretty much your 500x weapon's worth right there.
Make it unrealistic, but practical, otherwise it won't work (literally, you wouldn't be able to see a thing).

i was just giving you an example i made my rocket launcher like the size of a hovercraft but i just said that that is a lot easier than your way.
you can make it any size you want by going to scale all you should try it

i just want a ginormous tank with everything REALLY small so u have to like super jump to get into the tank
i still like the 500x bigger plasma nade idea!
that kid stuff should be made into a ppf that sounds cool

i did it , but they only turn big when im close to the onbject , also some didnt want to inject , it says that they were too big.

but making a grenade's model won't make the explosion bigger if someone can do this for particle effects it could work.

so I press tools,batch extract, then click extract models and press save. How do I open the files in milkshape?

for yall who are not getting the export option or cant find export, you have to go under Xbox Model in HMT and then click on one of the Sub Objects in the list. To open a .obj file in Milkshape you just go to File-Import-Wavefront OBJ and export using the same thing.

This is a studio 3dmax file, monkey! You can't open this here looser! Or words to this affrect.
I tried opening the way that is shown in the first post but--nothing.
What's does the recursive stuff mean??

how do i stop the models only appearing big close up it seems random some do some dont i export all the files related to the model set the scale the same for each one. example mc appears big close up not from any distance a ball appears the same large size from any distance.why

you have to import the file as a wavefront obj then go to edit then select all go to scale set what size you want on the 3 numbers scale then export over the top of the original file then use hmt to reinject it.

For anyone who is following the above steps but their object is still staying its usual size, make sure that the numbers in the X, Y, Z blanks are atleast set to 1.1, otherwise your model will stay exactly the same. Also make sure that none of the X, Y, Z buttons aren't selected, the only one that SHOULD be selected is the U button next to the X, Y, and Z blanks.
For anyone who wants to make their weapons and other objects SMALLER, just set the numbers in the blanks to anything at or below 0.9. The more 0's after the decimal, the smaller the object will be (ie, 0.9 will make your Warthog smaller by each Scaling, but by setting all the blanks to 0.09 each Scaling, your model will become much smaller. This is a helpful hint for those don't like wasting that few seconds of their time by pressing the Scale button over and over.

I cant open Milkshape it says ms3d.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for your inconveniance. yeah right so how do i fix this....
