I just want to let you know that i don't pirate games. Every game I have on my harddrive I own. Pirating games just kills the gaming indistry.

then just do that again then, and only copy the default.xbe over, or just switch dvd drives with your friend for like an hour.

Well techincally, you can't do anything with just the .xbe file, but it's still copyrighted material, which isn't something welcome to ask for one the xbox-scene, to the best of my knowledge.
I think your best options are to wait for your friend, look somewhere shady, or get a second Xbox.

I dont understand why he would be lying to the point on what everyone else is saying. What can he do with the xbe file ? Not like he can just create the files that he dont have. And good to see some other aussies around smile.gif

Yeah without the file u cant start the game, but with out the rest of the files that are on the cd u can start the game. Also 350z what program did u use to copy the game to ur HD ? Or did u do it manually ??

Sounds like a lame excuse to cover for a pirated copy. While I'm not against it, don't come here bitching when you fucked up twice (one, you didn't back up the XBE, and two, you didn't back up the release you downloaded). I see that you're not very good at this hacking thing simply because you don't know how to do something as trivial as making backup copies of the file you're modifying.

i copied off my bought copy to my hardrive to try hacking it up using xbcopy or whatever it is.. worked fine.
