| Thanks for the info guys, I actually forgot about SC for a while this I say an article about the new level just released and it looks great. Im a big fan of SC and I cant wait to play it some more More about the new level here Vselka Part One I think that once SC2 is released, they should give out free tools for us to mod and make our own levels in SC, that would be great for the XBox scene and keep a great game going strong (it worked for Halflife). |

| Andy 0113 is right. I received Tom Clancy's "Exclusive Companion Demo Disc" for preordering Rainbow Six 3. The disc includes a playable demo of Rainbow Six 3, new missions for Ghost Recon: Island Thunder and 3 new missions for Splinter Cell - Kola Cell [already available via several means], Vselka Infiltration and Vselka missions. I got it from GameStop but heard it was also available at EB Games - US. |

| This may sound stupid, but can you even play the demo without the game? Don't you have to start the game and then load the level? If not, how can I play the level with just a save on my Xbox without the game? |

| I know one of "Official Xbox Magazine's" demo discs came with Kola Cell or whatever on it. It's only restriction was you had to have a save on the xbox which is their "check" if you've at least played the game, but they claim it's a check if you own the game. But of course, you're asking this so there's no worries. When I get a chance, I'll look and let you know exactly which disc they plastered it on. |

| If XBM can do give you an Live update why cant us Xbox-Scene people? All u need is to edit a few lines |
| QUOTE (SOLO-X @ Oct 3 2003, 08:41 AM) |
| It makes it sound like you don't even have to have a copy of the game to play the demo |

| I don't understand this.I was over at nforce a few weeks ago and first they said you need ot change a few bytes in the file,and then I saw someone say you just need to patch the "3 xbe files",and now you guys are saying something different...lol.Does anyone know exactly how to get this thing to run?I have the original (not backup) versions of both ghost recon and splinter cell and the expansion pack download.Do I have to make a back up of splinter cell?I don't want to waste media considering I already have the original copy.....help would be appreciated |

LOL, sure buddy... If you have the original, why are you looking at nforce for tips on how to use the companion disc? |
| QUOTE (Bodom78 @ Oct 13 2003, 10:21 AM) |
| Yep, you can run the companion disk from the HD using the same method as running emulators, apps and games. Once you run the disk, from the menu install all the levels. Thats it, then load up your origional Splinter Cell game and the new levels will be in the load level screen. |
| QUOTE (T_Montana @ Oct 14 2003, 04:25 AM) | ||
so put the extra levels on the hard drive and put the origianl game in and load the levels?Also do I ahve to do anything to .xbe files? |
| QUOTE (Bodom78 @ Oct 10 2003, 06:10 AM) | ||
No, I have no access to a dvd burner 1.5gig?, maybe you are talking about the actual Splinter Cell game?. The companion disk is 161 meg total, it's only contains addon levels for Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon. Oh, and I have a full copy of SC and saves on my HD already and using a PAL XBox. Cheers. EDIT: Cant explain why, but I got it to work. I just deleted the default.xbe and transfered it over again. |
