Hello
Just to know if it is real that Sureal64 is a DEAD Project ? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
http://surreal64.sourceforge.net/
Because the Emulation Scène is not very active for the moment ....
And if the project is DEAD, is XPORT will made a new version to emulate more games ... ?
Thanks

I maybe wrong, but I don't believe XPort had a hand in porting all those emulators to the Xbox and calling the project Surreal 64.
The emulators two emulators used in Surreal 64, them being 1964 and UltraHLE, have not been updated at all since the last Surreal release. The only emulator that has been updated greatly is Project 64. The author of that emulator has stated though, that his previous source releases haven't helped him out alot, and the Xbox port was just a mere port and didn't help the project along at all.
So I'm not seeing an update to Surreal 64 anytime soon, unless the other emulators are updated and their sources still available.

I think Freakdave or Gogo were the ones working on it last. I've got a 128mb xbox, and it'd sure be nice to see Resident Evil working (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif).

only way you'll see re2 working on it is if the current pc version works with it in which it doesn't as of yet so i suggest trying the ps1 version with emu as the dual shock version offers the same options anyway.
odd and lantus were the main guys working surreal 64 v2

I switched to the PC version and now No Mercy is as fun (and updated graphically) as I could ever hope for it to be.

I've been mentioning Mupen64 here and there in the forums for awhile. It's easily portable to other consoles (it uses SDL) and it's open source. While we would still be limited to v5.6 of Rice's plugin, I think v.5.1 of Mupen is a bit better with compatability than 1964 v.8.5 (latest open source 1964 core). Plus, it has the potential that it will be updated in the future and the code should always be open.

I think the problem with Mupen64 is that it is still fairly slow, though the developers are apparantly working on it.
