Title: Viewing Photos, Xbmc Rescans The Image
Post by: vmaxvboost on October 29, 2007, 11:25:00 AM
I love the zoom and pan functionality of XBMC for photos.

On a computer scanner, I scanned some old scrapbook pages at 300 dpi.  The images are a mix of photos and newspaper clippings.  Using XBMC, I zoom in on the text of the newspaper clippings.

I tried viewing one newspaper clipping in XBMC.  The text was illegible.   To test it, I looked at the same file again.  And again, the text was illegible at first.  Then, after two seconds, the Xbox seemed to "re-scan" the photo, and the text became crystal clear.

I have seen this before, on an old digital camera - at first the image is blurry, then the camera re-scans the image, and it is sharp and clear.

What is happening here?  Is it Xbox related, or XBMC related?   How do I get it to do this rescanning everytime?

Also, the clarity of the text, when not rescanned, was independant of the dpi setting (600 was no better), and very dependant on the rescanning.   This is important to me, as I plan on scanning all of my scrapbooks.

Thanks,

Brian
