Special Note From T3CH:
QUOTE

* The domain 'xil.us' no longer exists, use http://217.118.215.116/ until I find another domain.
* This build has been created with LTCG (linking optimizations). Consider it a test smile.gif
* Jezz_X has worked hard on improving PM3 skin, his labour got added to SVN today and is thus included in this build.
* I'm including a package of "Picture Icons" for use with new TuxBox Client, see _tools/PictureIcon.rar.
* There's no new mplayer TEST version since my last build, but you can still report issues with old TEST here: http://www.xboxmedia...ead.php?t=23969 It's located in the TEST subfolder, simply replace the 2 files in XBMC/system/players/mplayer/ if you want to help Team XBMC test it.
* I've also tweaked the win32 run_me_first.bat so it runs and then unmounts the virtual drives when you exit.
* I'm also including the XBMC Win32 PC environment.exe that is meant for skinners & python developers, read more about the concept here. It was built using Microsoft DirectX Summer 2004 SDK.
* If you want to report bugs, please do it the PROPER way, see http://www.xboxmedia...oper_Bug_Report

INSTALL NOTES from T3CH readme/nfo:
QUOTE

* APPLICATION INSTALL
- Fresh Install: Transfer _whole_ XBMC folder to your APPS folder (or where you want it).
- Upgrade: Backup the XBMC\UserData folder. Transfer whole XBMC folder to Xbox.  Overwrite UserData folder with your backed up copy.

* DASHBOARD INSTALL (SOFTMODS)
ARE NOT COVERED IN THIS README, SEE http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=406656

* DASHBOARD INSTALL
- Option 1. Team XBMC's shortcut tool.
It's included in the _tools folder as <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.xbe>> + <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.cfg>>.
Instructions here: http://www.xboxmedia...=As_a_Dashboard (Option 1).
Rename the <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.xbe>>+.cfg & also EDIT the .cfg so it matches your config.
See APPLICATION INSTALL above.
- Option 2. Thanks to an app called 'Team UIX's Xbe Shortcut Maker v1.0' by JbOnE, it's now easy...
Transfer contents of XBMC folder (this is VERY important since the tool is hardcoded) TO "E:\APPS\XBMC\". Rename <<SHORTCUT by TEAM UIX.xbe>> to something your bios can boot  (see http://www.xboxmedia...=As_a_Dashboard or read your BIOS README) and transfer to location your mod solution boots. No need to fiddle with HOME tag anymore,  and future upgrades you need not to worry about this file (unless you move XBMC).

* WIN32 PC ENVIRONMENT INSTRUCTIONS (WIN32 FOLDER)
Good to know, this requires DirectX9 Runtimes to be installed. Also this doesn't work with all graphics cards.
You need to:
- Copy XBMC_PC.exe & 'run_me_first.bat' from win32 to XBMC folder
- Run 'run_me_first.bat'
- Run XBMC_PC.exe

* UPGRADE TIPS
If you're updating from a VERY old/bad build you may get issues. Follow these simple rules:
- Replace (FTP OVERWRITE) all files in your XBMC folder with fresh ones from your new build
- Delete old settings (from UserData/guisettings.xml)
- In some rare cases some of the database files in UserData/Database/*.db may need manual deletion (usually if they are very old). Note: This loses all per file settings you made with the old build!

Is there a reason why this build is more than 5 MB smaller than the past ones? Maybe I didn't read all the info properly, but I was wondering...

Bug or Feature not implemented?

After you set set content... and add movie info from database the dvd box shot is usually wrong from imdb (would prefer DVDEmpire.com or amazon in selection versus imdb) so to change the box shot you select get thumb/browse but browse doesn't allow local drives to be seen (i.e. C,E,F,G etc.) just the virtual path/sources you set thru xbmc now I know for a fact I used to be able to browse local drives there before you started doing subversions T3CH... so is the script broken or did you remove that feature since then?

Would like local sources to be in dialog box that way I can make sections (video/music etc) look cleaner rather
than have shortcuts to local drives there.

Dunno if others feel the same way.. haven't seen any posts on it.

- Aye be a Humble Pirate/XBMC fan, Xeron

P.S. Love the DVD Icon/DVD Views added as well as the motion intro screen when booting looks more friggin pro-type now

BTW thought I would mention my network/system specs so you know I'm no bum but an entusiast.

4 Xboxes (one in each room Living/Bed/Computer/Son's Bed) as XBMC Extenders to my 3 Terrabyte DivX 6 On Demand Video Server (AMD Athlon XP 3200/Antec Server Case) DivX files are made custom by me from DVD's 2 gb each with AC3 Sound @ 480P HD Res (didn't wanna go higher in res for certain reasons)

Also Thumbs don't get applied/refreshed when changed and the most recent viewed one appears in the top left of the screen that wouldn't go away seems like broken code

only pm3.   I speed up the animations because it was painfully slow you will get used to it quick and wonder how you ever survived with the old one

Hi!
Excellent work as always.

Is it possible for you to release a "update-pack" with only the latest changes?
Or does the changes affect the whole release?
Cause everytime I update XBMC i have to add all thumbnails, import movie/music info's, apply skins, add scripts etc. all over again.
Or am i missing some feature?  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Thanks!

I find that a bit confusing, to be honest. Would it be possible to make the colon blinking instead of static? So it would be obviously the current time on first sight.

It might sound OT (and maybe it is), but.... is anyone able to use XMBCLyrics with PM3 skin?
If I try to install it via XMBCScripts site it fails to unpack, while if I install manually (following the readme file instruction) it gives me an error when I run it using PM3 skin...

Is the script incompatible with latest XBMC or I am missing something?

Fantastic work!
I am still on XBMC-2007-03-17-PIMPED, and this is my issu:
Please let me know if you guys have noticed it on the XBMC-2007-03-17-PIMPED!

While browsing PICTURES in SlideShow mode - I get stuck when I
use the D-Pad up for zooming in and D-Pad down for zoom out... Let me
explain better (poor english, sorry):

With D-Pad right or left you move from one picture to another.
When I enter in zoom in and zoom out mode, simply there is no way to move
to next picture! The right and left commands does not work anymore.
I need to exit from the slideshow (pressing cool.gif, and enter again.

Other thing (I did not like much):
I start my slideshow in the picture number 40 (example), and inside
slideshow I go moving to 41, 42, ..., 101, 102, etc --- but, when I exit
the slideshow (back to folder file list) the file selected is yet the picture
40, the one where I started. Is this intentional?

If for some reason I need to exit from Slideshow back to file list after
viewing 550 pictures (and being in the 550th file) I will need to manually
scroll and search for the 551 pic to continue my vieweing, because I was
thrown back to the beginning point!

Well, I understand these are very silly issues, nothing important
at all, but I wanted to share it here!

Keep up the great work, comrades!
Cospefogo.

Excellent!

I know this is a stupid question for most people here but when I look at other peoples media centre setup, they have like movie posters and album covers etc

For me I just go to my hdd via my network, and I just ive folders like “mythbusters” “movies” which Ive got all my movies in etc, but I have no pictures , how do I set like movie pictures to the folders, I think that looks fucking awesome man.

Once again im sorry if this is a lame question, but I cant find the info anywhere, if anyone has a link to guide me, that would be most appreciated.

First off, non-T3CH or pure SVN builds aren't supported here.

That said, the picture zoom issue has been around for a while now (dunno if it's been fixed in the latest build or not), and the builds I have used also don't keep track of the last image viewed.

I installed this latest SVN over the last SVN and skin is not filling out the screen any longer.  I went calibrate and it was lining up correctly.  My setup is 720p 16x9 wide.  The skin is not going to the edge on the sides, but the pictures in the skin do go to the edge on the right side.

Question about TEXTURES.XPR:

For every new build, I used to replace the official icons for
my own icons, using the XBMCtex tool by Mr. Mathias,
the Chokemaniac to create my own textures.xpr.

Looking on the actual changelog I found this:
2006-10-11  6991  changed: Added building of Textures.xpr to build.bat, and removed Textures.xpr from CVS.
2006-10-11  6989  added: built.bat to build PM3 skin
2006-10-11  6988  added: Build of XBMCTex.exe that does not rely on the XDK
2006-10-11  6987  removed XDK dependency of XBMCTex

Is there a way to keep building my own private textures.xpr
as I used before? Is that possible to get the build.bat somewhere in the net?

Sorry but I am pretty confused about what is CVS, T3CH, PIMPED releasesand
all similar terms I found on XBMC downloads! CVS is the place where I got
"official" uncompressed textures to work with my XBMCtex tool.
Also, I used them to create PMIII like screens for all Xport emulators.

Any feedback regarding this info will be highly appreciated!
Cheers,
Cospefogo.

You grab build.bat in the same place as you got the textures.  From SVN.

And you don't need it anyway - all it does is builds the Textures.xpr file using XBMCTex.  You already have XBMCTex, so can just continue to do what you always did.

This build broke my ability to run .xbe files.  Pretty weird, definitely a localized issue.  I installed it a few times though to make sure and whenever i ran a game or homebrew app it just restarted xbmc.  Very strange.  Downgrading to the 3-12 release fixed it up.

I am still having a problem with the updated PMIII skin filling the screen.  I calibrated months ago when I first installed XBMC and everything was fine.  I put in this update and now it is not filling the screen on all 4 sides.  When I go to the calibrate screen the corners are at the corners.  What am I missing or what do I need to do to fix?

Thanks

If your screen is calibrated properly it should be fine but go play with the skin zoom settings and either set it to zero or 2

although this does seem to be an issue for some not everyone gets it so please start providing information like
*Xbox version
*Bios type / version
*Harddrive type
*if you have a g: drive or just a f:
*if your harddrive is locked
*softmod or modchip (what type of modchip/softmod)
*video mode NTSC/PAL
*do you have Filter flicker patcher on
*do you have auto change regions for games on
*anything else you think is usefull

Most of this stuff can be found in the system ifo page and may greatly help us in fixing the issue if we can see a pattern

Thank you, Jmarshall!
Tonight I will install the latest T3CH build and I was worried
in advance because I noticed a big difference in the size (Kb) of
the TEXTURES.XPR files. Yesterday build is 10 Mb smaller!!!!!!!

XBMC-2.0.0-FINAL-SLIM-FIXED-T3CH --- Around 25.080 Kb
XBMC-SVN_2007-03-18_rev8233-T3CH-LTCG --- 14.341 Kb.

This made me think that recent builds were using other method
of packing the textures.xpr (maybe even with less PNG's, etc etc)

Anyway, will make my tests in few hours!
Cheers! Thanks again!
Cospefogo.

PS. I was thinking... Do I need to re-download ALL TEXTURES directory
from SVN again? The current textures I have here were downloaded
just after the 2.0.0 final build release! I think I need the actual
SVN textures to compile my newer textures.xpr, correct?

Oh man... It's a huge work to download all those files from SVN one by one!

No the new build just uses the textures smarter and dosn't need as many big ones
so make sure you use the newest images and replace the ones you want because size/layout of some of the default ones has changed heaps. so you may need to adjust your own to suit

I also noticed... the backdrops for the first screen after you make a selection off the main screen... looks like the are made of 2 pictures 1/4 is the top and 3/4 is the bottom.  If I go into Weather and I believe Pictures is the other one, 3/4 bottom part is missing, but Videos, Music, and Programs are fine.  The top picture on these 2 screens is stretching down to the bottom.

Anyone else seeing this?

you overwrote your old folder instead of starting new didn't you  tsk tsk tongue.gif  basically I removed those files fromt he 16x9 dir because they are not needed to be seperate and because you overwrote the skin you still have them and its using the old xml files to draw it which will be wrong  smile.gif
You will also find quite a few other errors if you do not start from scratch with the skin

"Link Time Code Generation" is more for the techie types.  It means that the computer that built the program will optimize the entire program at once, instead of the more traditional method of optimizing small chunks separately.

What the end user will get is potentially a smaller program and potentially a faster program.  *fingers crossed*

*video mode NTSC/PAL: NTSC
*do you have Filter flicker patcher on: No
*do you have auto change regions for games on: Yes

QUOTE(contingent @ Mar 19 2007, 05:37 PM) *

in the main menu settings somewhere they have a dashboard shortcut that was pointing to some weird directory. i changed it to my real xbmc default.xbe and it fixed this exact problem. i think it was in the settings menu where you can turn on the flicker filter shit for games and stuff.

Ah, well you're right.  They have the Dashboard path set for C:\default.xbe so I had to change that to where I keep it in E:\Apps\XBMC  -  but that didn't fix my problem unfortunately.

Xbox ver 1.6
I don't know what BIOS, sorry - XBMC doesn't either
My HDD Model is : MDT MD2500BB-00DWA0.  I am lame, I bought my xbox pre-modded.  IT's 250-gb and I think it's a Seagate.
I only have an F:\ drive, no G:\
My hard drive is locked
It's an X3 modchip, not softmodded
I'm in NTSC
I don't have Flicker Filder on, or video mods switching.
Can't think of what else would be useful.  I don't have any trainers, most of my settings are the default ones.

If somebody could point me to a quick guide that shows how to get error logs out of XBMC, I'd be happy to post one.  I didn't see one in a quick scan of the pinned topics.

First let me say thanks for another great release. You guys keep doing amazing things with this.

I have a small question. I have a softmodded xbox so when I update from 03-12 release I just coped over everything. I think I’m right about this but I could be wrong. blink.gif

In the last build there was some thing about system idle that keeps your temp low right? Well in the last build my temp was like
CPU 113 f
GPU 98 f
Now its
CPU 149 f
GPU 119 f

Just wanted to know if anybody else was experiencing different temp.

Thanks again biggrin.gif

How can I add a button to switch to myvideolibrary -> movies -> titiles? On previous releases I just used:

<onclick>ReplaceWindow(myvideolibrary,titles)</onclick>

However, with the introduction of the tv database this is no longer working. I tried a few different ways, but couldn't get the right syntax.

Didn't you just answer your own question??

You know about the activatewindow(myvideolibrary,titles)

All that's changed is you now use movietitles instead of titles.

I'm a longtime user, firsttime-ish poster.

I usually only upgrade when something breaks, and have upgraded now that my IMDb lookups stop working when I press info.

I have done a clean install, transferred my old userdata folder.    But I don't get the new library system.  I press info, nothing happens.  So I have "set content" to Movie, using imdb.com.  When I press info, it brings back nothing as if it can't find it. i.e. it goes to the 'querying imdb info' screen, then returns straight away to the 'enter movie name' prompt, as if it couldn't find it.

Is there more info on the new system?

If your screen is calibrated properly it should be fine but go play with the skin zoom settings and either set it to zero or 2
although this does seem to be an issue for some not everyone gets it so please start providing information like
*Xbox version
*Bios type / version
*Harddrive type
*if you have a g: drive or just a f:
*if your harddrive is locked
*softmod or modchip (what type of modchip/softmod)
*video mode NTSC/PAL
*do you have Filter flicker patcher on
*do you have auto change regions for games on
*anything else you think is usefull

Most of this stuff can be found in the system ifo page and may greatly help us in fixing the issue if we can see a pattern

i'am having the same prob, games and programs not loading.
xbox 1.6
bios say's unknown in the info part i don't no what bios it is.
250 gig hard drive locked westen i think
modchip smartxx
ntsc 720p

video mode is on

Well then there does seem to be a bug.  Movies are not being queued up from within the video library.  I can bring up the context menu snd select Queue Item, but it doesn't queue it.  That's why I wasn't seeing the Now Playing option.  I only happened to notice this because I watched a movie and when it was finished I read your response and tried again.  Now Playing was now there because playing a movie also puts it in the queue.

I should note that it does queue videos fine from Files view.

P.S. I am using the latest T3CH release

This build broke my ability to run .xbe files.  Pretty weird, definitely a localized issue.  I installed it a few times though to make sure and whenever i ran a game or homebrew app it just restarted xbmc.  Very strange.  Downgrading to the 3-12 release fixed it up.

Did you do a Clean Install?

 - Do not copy/import your old XBMC\UserData folder
 - Delete all files in E:\CACHE
 - Delete all files on X: Y: Z: drives
 - Delete all files in E:\UDATA\0face008
 - Delete all files in E:\TDATA\0face008

I was getting same problem reloading XBMC when launching XBE's.  I forgot to delete the files listed.  I used FlashFXP to ftp delete those files, and after reboot I could launch XBE's fine.

I did a clean install except for the xbmc\userdata folder - but dude no way am I deleting that folder.  It's all sorts of customized and I really shouldn't have to.  Hopefully the next release will come out soon and fix this up.

If you ask me - yes. But that's personal taste. Why don't you just edit it yourself? It's not THAT diffiult to figure out. And special wishes usually require some effort. smile.gif

sleeping.gif Of course that it's a quick edit but I think that it's time to change it by default.

Thanks Joshatdot! My last update went fine without performing a clean install, that's why i didn't tried that.
The following was enough for running XBE's again:

- delete all files in E:\CACHE

- delete all files in E:\UDATA\0face008

- delete all files in E:\TDATA\0face008

- Turn off Xbox and power it on again

What i did with the /Userdata:

I copied back my thumbnails of my music. Getting those again from AllMusic...No Way! But XBMC nicely added them to my music... so no problem at all. Setting back my personal settings only took me a few minutes.

I love this version, though i was wondering if its possible to add an 'wraplist view' to programs that works with wide icons... The finishing touch for XBMC  cool.gif

I have also noticed that when you change an icon, it doesn't update when you exit out to screen. (IE- You change an icon to something else ,it shows it, but when you exit , it still shows the previous icon.
Also, i can't for the life of me seem to get the TV shows scraper working with the rev8233 XBMC build. I've started fresh with a new, clean install, and it still doesn't work. When i scan, it always finds 'Dark Season' show for each subfolder instead (Season 1, Season 2,etc.), and inside those folders, 'Show Episode Info' option is missing. (Using "Heroes\Season 1\Heroes - S01E01 - ..." naming.) But as soon as i put back on the most previous build, it works fine, put back on Rev.8264, and it stops working again. Don't know what could cause this. Every naming convention working with previous build, doesn't work at all with Rev.8264.
Am i the only one having this problem? I hope not. I tried it on both my Xbox, and it doesn't work on either one. Yet the previous build works just fine.

Here's how I fixed the reboot/reload XBMC when launching *.XBE's

1. I repeatedly tried to launch UnleashX from Filemanager.  I think I got lucky one time and was able to get it going.

2. If that does not work, use CASH 1.1 or Slayers 2.8 to boot and gain FTP access.

3. Once you have loaded a different Dash, delete:

 E:\CACHE\*.*
 E:\TDATA\0face008\*.*
 E:\UDATA\0face008\*.*
 X:\*.*
 Y:\*.*
 Z:\*.*

4. Reboot to XBMC

@djdafreund and everyone else having trouble with the thumbs:

When selecting a new thumb for a movie instead of the imdb one, it does change, but you need to reboot your xbox, atleast that's how it works for me. Not a solution, the bug is there, but atleast this is a workaround.

Also having the manual thumbnail change problem - here are some more details...

Getting movie thumbnails only works from the initial "movie information" imdb query. If you choose "get thumb", it updates while viewing the movie information page, but goes away as soon as you exit to the main list. The new thumbnail is being stored in userdata/thumbnails/videos, but always with the name ffffffff.tbn - seems that the problem lies in the routine that names the manually snagged thumbnail. After the change, there is a huge delay after choosing "movie information" again for that title - possibly timing out trying to find a non-existent thumb?

The only way I've been able to actually change thumbnails with this build is to do a manual "get thumb", find the original thumbnail in the userdata/thumbnails/video folder, delete it, then rename ffffffff.tbn to whatever the original was named. Ugh.

Otherwise, looking sweet! Keep it up guys!

That wont do anything its a code problem and has been fixed (we hope) in the current svn so wait for a new t3ch then try again or compile your own

Oh, for some reason it worked on mine.  But soon after this I went back to 3/12/2007 build.

Ugh.
