4. When you are watching a video or music vis and press the white button, I really like the display that comes up in the PDM skin with the progress bar and like how the progress bar shows when you go back to the home screen.
5. Big Icons on the side, again like Blackbolt classic
6. Could use some prettier menu sounds (I use the ones from xTV)
Additionally I would like some scripts put into XBMC by default such as the submenu editor script and the XBMC Installer Script (there was a version of this that integrated quite nicely)
I do know how to accomplish much of what I list above myself...but I put on nearly every SVN build and it gets to be a pain in the ass (or maybe I'm just lazy) and scripts get broken every now and then.
But as I indicated PMIII is the still the best in my opinion.

Thats the problem with these polls they tend to go on whatever is newest and most current and different because its what people use

I agree with what Jezz said to an extent, but in my opinion the biggest prob at the mo with all the skins that have and are materializing is that when compared to PM3 they are always lacking something in terms of functionality, be it bugfixes or features.
If the other skins had these issues ironed out I think more people would use them as default for a long duration of time. As it happens, there is always a reason to flip back on to PM3 so in the end its a case of why keep swapping.
Example being that I love xtv at the mo, however it lacks the GSM script, the controls when watching movies are too small and the file explorer is buggy, so i need to use PM3 for all those functions.
Clearity is looking promising and i know once finished Smoke will create something really really nice with this one, but at the mo i find it a bit too buggy. I am also likeing the look of fluidmans work a lot and have high hopes for that skin too!
I love Hades skin but not sure I can vote for that until its updated with new view types. (Get a move on, u should know u arent allowed a life by now!! ;-) lol)
No doubt the v1.0 release of MC360 will be an exciting time for those still anticipating it with a passion, but Im afraid that whilst being caught up in the excitement of the whole skin and what it could do when it first materialised, I feel it is too busy and like most people am also now following the current trend of simplicity and a nice sleek dash.
That said, in 6 months time we will probs all be bored of black and blue everywhere and still using PM3 cos its the only one which still works properly! ;-)
So yeah, PM3 for me.

When mc360 first came out I loved it, esp. the ability to create my own themes (I made it very dark and PM3'sh)... then a week later I came back to PM3 and haven't used mc360 since the 6-6-6 build... the one and only reason I enjoy mc360 is well, because its a replica of the 360 dashboard. It's nice to be able to show people you have the 360 dash on your xbox1. In the end, I will always choose PM3 because its so professional, and I don't think any skin will ever touch it. What discourages me in making my own skin is thinking how it compares to PM3, and it just doesn't hold up at all
Although the other skins are real nice (Like Clearity, xTV, Classic-X hehe), PM3 will always be the god among skins

Not like you to have a rant! ;-) joking btw, as always these are just my own personal opinions and hey, different opinions make the world more fun right? ;-)
As for it not being very good reasoning, Im not so sure about that, dont get me wrong I must admit I am bored as hell with the look of PM3, but I always end up back on it not out of choice but because its the only one that works for everything, scripts in particular.
I would have Media Centre as my default but its not up to date. I would have Clearity but the tab text is too small and its a little buggy last time i looked. I am trying my best to have xtv as my default but im using the file manager a lot at the mo and that doesnt show file size. Once someone gets a skin to the point where it can be used continously for a month or so without having to change it im sure it will become my default.
I take on board your point about BB Classic, to be honest I havent checked it out in a while cos i dont kinda like the look of it, (sorry) but hey, if thats up to scratch with PM3 in terms of performance then great, we just need more of the skins to reach that level.
Anyways, hope that clears up my reasoning, and like i say, just my thoughts really. Either way I cant help thinking about how lucky we are to have this app being continually pushed and developed by such active members of the scene. God I wish someone would hurry up and crack open big brother so we can have some fun! ;-)

I could seriously be really really happy with any of my top 3. I stick with PM3 because thats the one my GF knows how to navigate. Not that she couldn't navigate with the others...but to make my life easier, all the technology in my house just "works".
Jezz and Chief get props for basically owning the rest of the scripts out there right now(pm3 exception). Well in my eyes at least.

Jezz_X has been adding new and very useful features, some I have yet to see in other skins. It's also one of the most responsive skins out there.
PMIII is good, but as the default skin, it probably is hard to be cutting edge.

I voted MC360 as my fave because it has some really nice extras, and i believe v1.0 will blow all others out of the water.
Too be honest though, i think eX will be the definitive XBMC skin.

Blackbolt Classic is a wicked skin as well and its the smoothest working skin of all the skins available, to me I just regard it as the default XBMC skin neatly designed and looks very nice as well, I just dont use it that much maybe because I dont fancy the way the menus are.
PM3 Is the First skin I ever used and If I want to check any thing that I'm not sure about its the skin that I'm going back to any time.
Slate is cool but needs some fixing.
Xtv If there was no Clearity I would've used Xtv as my default skin, but some of its themes are lame sorry
PDM I used it just once
looks like a PM3 Morph.Vision I just cant wait to play with this skin and I think its just gona Rock.
Clearity where My vote goes. Its Simple, Clean Interface, Very nice, I love its design and the way it presents the Media Info.

I almost batted Blackbolt Classic. MC360 won for me 60/40. When/if I get the Sharp 52" LCD I want then it's back to classic or one of the new skins. The only thing that might turn me off to the Classic skin is the whole Haden Christiansen thing... Don't need him in my face every time I use my box (90% usage for Video these days).
There are by no means any low quality skins in the list. I like that PM1 and 2 are still in there because I just set up a box for my sister for Christmas. Her choice was PM2

... as a side note... Can anyone perhaps explain why the heck I all of a sudden cannot add/change season icons in the library tv shows mode??? I'm totally dumfounded and heartbroken about that. I'm not really a noob, and I have icons set up in every other view and every other mode, season icons included outside of the Library... but somehow I can't just 'select season thumb' anymore to add an icon... i feel like I'm maybe overlooking something stupid????

I love the new homescreen . . it really updates pm3 in the right direction. I also love the faster amimations and darker shades.
for a while now I've been thinking that the current pm3 home screen doesn't quite fit anymore with the rest of the evolving skin. (transparency glass look, and more modern/sleek) . . the original home screen needs an update

The fonts are tiny, having 3 sections for videos (Videos, Movies, TV Shows) on the main screen is a waste, and having scripts and the file explorer hidden away in the system setting sub-menu drove me insane, as well as fixing the shortcuts for the Programs sub-menu. The skin also lacks a game save viewer, so I have to switch to PM3 to edit game saves.
Now your probably asking why do I use it. lol
I like the layout better than PM3, and that's about it.
It took a bit to get used to, but with all the functionality problems fixed and an hour of cruising the menus, it's very nice skin.
