* Since XBMC is in a FEATUREFREEZE at the moment, I've decided to make more than one BUILD per week.
If you want to report bugs, please do it the PROPER way, see http://www.xboxmedia...oper_Bug_Report

* Please note: Support for skins with versions below 2.0 has been removed

* XBoxMediaCenter.xml has been removed. Rootfolder shouldn't contain any xml files now. See this: http://www.xboxmedia...UserData_Folder , bookmarks are now in UserData\sources.xml

* If you are a translator, I'm sure Team XBMC would appreciate if you updated YOUR language file!

NOTEWORTHY, XML and SCRIPT CHANGES IN THIS BUILD
QUOTE

* added: all strings are now localizable. there are about 150 new strings to translate. final call to all translators, have a blast! smile.gif
* added: Flicker Filter Xbe Patcher.
* changed: TTF rendering improved through the use of freetype.

* sources.xml:
* Keymap.xml: some fixes to 'Evil B'

INSTALL NOTES from T3CH readme/nfo:
QUOTE

* APPLICATION INSTALL
- Fresh Install: Transfer _whole_ XBMC folder to your APPS folder (or where you want it).
- Upgrade: Backup the XBMC\UserData folder. Transfer whole XBMC folder to Xbox.  Overwrite UserData folder with your backed up copy.

* DASHBOARD INSTALL (SOFTMODS)
ARE NOT COVERED IN THIS README, SEE http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=406656

* DASHBOARD INSTALL
- Option 1. Team XBMC's shortcut tool.
It's included in the _tools folder as <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.xbe>> + <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.cfg>>.
Instructions here: http://www.xboxmedia...=As_a_Dashboard (Option 1).
Rename the <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.xbe>>+.cfg & also EDIT the .cfg so it matches your config.
See APPLICATION INSTALL above.
- Option 2. Thanks to an app called 'Team UIX's Xbe Shortcut Maker v1.0' by JbOnE, it's now easy...
Transfer contents of XBMC folder (this is VERY important since the tool is hardcoded) TO "E:\APPS\XBMC\". Rename <<SHORTCUT by TEAM UIX.xbe>> to something your bios can boot  (see http://www.xboxmedia...=As_a_Dashboard or read your BIOS README) and transfer to location your mod solution boots. No need to fiddle with HOME tag anymore,  and future upgrades you need not to worry about this file (unless you move XBMC).

* UPGRADE TIPS
If you're updating from a VERY old/bad build you may get issues. Follow these simple rules:
- Replace (FTP OVERWRITE) all files in your XBMC folder with fresh ones from your new build
- Delete old settings (from UserData/guisettings.xml)
- In some rare cases some of the database files in UserData/Database/*.db may need manual deletion (usually if they are very old). Note: This loses all per file settings you made with the old build!

Seems to me that using this compiled version the "skip" button doesn't work in DVD playback, well atleast when playing ISO's. But font does look better running at 720p on 42in Plasma.
Not sure if anything else is broken?

Which "Skip" button?  Are you pressing Skip Next on a remote, or is it on the video OSD, or are you meaning the skip function on the dpad of the controller?

The only skip that the DVDPlayer allows is skip based on the dpad (or remote arrows) which skips a predefined amount within the video.

It doesn't do chapter skipping etc.

It pays to read the code before one comments wink.gif

I have 2 pieces of good news for you:

1.  You are correct - chapter skip has worked for ages - I was reading the wrong section of code.

2.  The problem is with keymap.xml - there was a small change to it that wasn't supposed to be made - open it up and take the <skipplus>NextSubtitle</skipplus> line out of the <FullScreenVideo> section.

Or, even better, grab the fixed version from webcvs:

http://xbmc.cvs.sour...iew=log#rev1.17

Cheers,
Jonathan

Will this be addressed/fixed in future builds?

And thanks team XBMC/T3CH/CVS for all your hard work.

Flicker auto patching is of course sweet... but I sure hope there comes a seperate setting for it. Using the XBMC setting seems very pointless, since I atleast, want different settings for XBMC and games. Actually, speaking for myself, I'd like to see a per game setting so auto patching could be skipped entirly.

Excellent that it's implemented in XBMC though. As a windows application it was sort of useless, this is perfect though.

25-08-2006 added: resume playback for dvd's and automatic bookmark for last played position

This new feature only works on ISO/IMG DVD's?! Didn't work on a inserted DVD in the DVD-rom player I tried, so it's possible there are some issues with this particular title(didn't have time for more testing...)

No this font isn't in CVS, nor will it ever be, because it's a commercial font, just used to show the difference in the RENDERING

Yes, put them in the /media/Fonts directory, and add a custom fontset to Font.xml in the skin you are using.

Info in the manual here.

Streaming dvds over smb is much slower...
In an earlier version (14-08-2006) I could stream dvds from my NAS without a problem.
Since version 22-08-2006 I get al kinds of artifacts with the same dvds, same NAS.

I have noticed in My Music, folders of named stuff like <artist> - <album> ... when I select them to get Album Infomation, that it searches the DB backwards, <album> - <artist>.

For instance Drowning Pool - Sinner (folder name) becomes Sinner (Advance) - Drowning Pool when searching Allmusic.com DB, and it does not show any artists related to the name Drowning Pool in the list for me to choose from.

If you want a Debug log file I can post one .. same thing happens with System of a Down - Toxicity

edit - It was the mp3 id3 tags...I changed them, and it found Drowning Pool: Sinner ... but it did search them backwards on that status window when searching.

krl69:

well the problem is that if a bookmark/resume point of one dvd is used on another dvd, you would crash the dvdplayer. so either we must store it per dvd based on some name or we must make sure it is cleared when the disk is ejected.

Okey, but how do you solve it on avi's and other video files? there have to be a refrence in a db?! If not, cleared when ejecting is ok for me... :-)  I would think that volume name on dvd's is enough to keep them apart?!

I hate to be picky about cbr thumbnails but it seems the thumbnails generated are treating the cbr's like a folder and generates 4 thumbnails to display per cbr.  Adding folder.jpg to the cbr doesnt change this.  It just looks messy and ugly and not as pretty as it would look if it only used the first image in the file.  I'd be happy if you'd just allow me to assign a tbn image.

I realize this isn't a big deal, nor is it exactly a bug.. but it would be great if I could get my digitial comic book collection to display by their covers.  No biggie if you can't get around to it

xbmc to xbmc transfers are not working too well. when copying a lot of files from one box to another it will randomly stop on a file for no particular reason. it is not always the same file either, sometimes it will copy 500 files and then stop, or sometimes only 5 and stop. before anyone says check your wires i've tried a crossover cable and straight cables thru a router, they both do the same thing, and the boxes are still connected to each other.

I was playing with a fresh install of this build and the wol script.  Then when the script launched, the xbox froze and I had to power it off and back on.  It even froze my XLcd which has never happened before when it would freeze in the past.  Now my RSS feeds are not working nor is the weather.  Everything else works fine.  Is there some way I can troubleshoot this without having to reinstall?  THanks.

If you are in My videos, My music, etc. pressing the B button will lead you to the main menu window. Not with My weather.

I can't play any of the shoutcast stations either, i have tried atleast 100 stations. They worked in earlier build, but not anymore. I will post debug log later.

I tried 2006-08-06 build, it took afew tries, but most of the streams did play.  When I tried the same streams on 2006-08-27 ... they didnt play.

Hmm...its a shoutcast issue...I tried all builds back till the Shoutcast sorting was not broken (2006-07-09) and it has problems playing streams.  I guess with my 2006-08-06 I was getting lucky.

Mebby Shoutcast changed stuff on their servers, and XMBC cannot interpet the PLS files anymore.  I am going to try all the previous builds and see if they all give the same results/errors.

Hello I have a playlist suggestion:

Before you release the final 2.0 version it would be very convienient to have an option to load a playlist from the Now Playing screen.  The button could be placed right above the 'Save' button and be a shortcut to the playlists directory like the shortcut in the 'My Music' root.  This would be for switching playlists or combining playlists easily while playing music already without having to leave the Now Playing screen.

Thanks for your time.
