UPDATE:
There is a (bad?) trainer included (with the T3CH build).
It is called 'Evt-sdr2.etm' and clocks in at 298Kb. If this isnt removed, XBMC will crash during the "Update trainer list" scan

-- Posted by XanTium on January 23 13:43 EST
We received this press release from Team Xored:
QUOTE
The most advanced and refined dashboard for Xbox is now more refined and more powerful than ever before. No other dashboard provides as many Luxury, yet functional, Appointments. The creature comforts provided in XboxMediaCenter(<a href="http://www.xbox-scene.com/software/software.php?page=mediaplayers#newsitemEpyVVkpEFZGLaWTWZd">info</a>) (XBMC) far surpass other dash's strongest yearnings and attempts.
In the past XboxMediaCenter may have paralleled some of the other dashboards that were available for the Xbox, but this is no longer the case. With the full integration of Team Xored's ETM/XBTF Engine, XBMC now eclipses all other dashboards and has set itself apart as being the only Xbox dashboard to be officially licensed to use Team Xored's ETM/XBTF Engine.
The combination of the hottest dashboard and the most technically advanced trainer engine will ensure we all have the greatest experience waiting for us at our finger tips.

Whats the build date of the XBMC version you grabbed?
I was looking over XBMC's changelog and it shows the xored trainer engine was added on 1.21.06, so you'll need to find a build that was compiled 1.21.06 or later, though I would reccomend searching for a build that was even compiled later, lets say 1.22.06 on.
-
bah, not actually released yet. I'd rather have it in unleashx though.

Isn't this just going to result in even more cheating on Xlink Kai?

Oh, right! I'd almost forgotten the Xbox can be used to play games.
I hacked mine into a 2-ru rackmount and use it as a streaming media player more than anything else...
I wonder if they cleaned up x.264 code...

Will this be something that will be included in all future releases of XMBC Or is is a seperate project? Just wondering if I used the XBMCDR to download/compile a version it would have this support.
-
It´s added to cvs...
Dont know how much more clear it can be then that...
And as i said above:
Wait for a T3CH build or compile yourself (yes, XBMCDBR is compiling yourself....)

Now isnt this awesome? Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome dude cant wait till this is released!
-
This is so Awesome!
Now I don't need to use evox or the trainer engine to load up my trainers.
This is the best dash ever!
Are the skins for it going to be the same type?
Or are they upgraded?
-
Can some who got this going explain were the trainers have to go I can't see anything in the new XboxMediaCenter.xml to point to them or is it done in the settings menu ?? I havn't finished compiling it yet
-
QUOTE(DaLeroy @ Jan 24 2006, 12:32 AM)

Am I the only way who doesn't see the point behind this? XBMC is an awesome dash as it stands. I don't see the reason to put trainer (aka cheating) functionality in it...
why not? i mean, alot of people cheat in games, i do every once in awhile...and really besides that, its another kickass addition to an already awesome dashboard.
-
Seems like every other day they are adding "new" features. I just get XBMC working the way I like and they go and add something else. They are adding this but they aren't adding LinksBoks? Now there is a feature that I would use, I have never used trainers. I've read that XBMC was only meant to be used for media related applications, but then they include xlink kia and now these trainers. I wish they would put everything together and put out an "offical" release and put a stop to these other releases that happen every few days. But mabey that's just me.
-
very nice!
at last i can totally get rid of EvoX.
XBMC rocks! undoubtedly the best Dashboard ever.

Linksboks will need alot of changes to XBMC to work as intended.
Adding trainers didnt need remap of keys etc, mem optimizing like Links will have to.
There's a very simple solution to the problem you seem to have, don't use XBMC!

well many people use trainers and many people launch their games from within xbmc, why not be able to use the two together?
-
This makes me happy.
-
Ok I'm going to come right out and say it, since the press release doesn't seem to do much for me.
What the heck is the ETM / XBTF and why should I be giddy as a schoolgirl about it's addition to XBMC?
The press release seems to be too busy "fluffing" up how good it is and not explaning much, is it just a trainer which downloads saves from the net, cause avalaunch did that years ago?
Sorry to sound dumb but can someone please explain?

I do use XBMC, alot. It's easily the best program/dashboard for the xbox. I just get disapointed that I have to use a unsupported version to get the features I want.
But hey, I just wanted add my piece to the discussion. I have no use for this add-on, but I'll still support the project.

Did you ever wonder how XBMC got to be so bad ass? Did you ever see the very first release of xbmp 4 years ago? I did and the evolution of it to what it is today is ASTOUNDING. It rivals MCE for crying out LOUD.
Progress is progress and success is success. Do you want to wait on a once in a year update like some other apps and dashboards or do you want to witness the evolution?
They could have very well only come out with point releases once or twice a year. Want that? I dont.
Deal with a bug here and there and have a drink!
Oh, and to get back on topic. Cool new feature!
*oh and linksbox isnt ready and thats why you dont see it in the cvs. Im biting my nails too though so i sympathize

although trainers are sweet in one player this is only gonna seriously increase cheating if its applicable to multiplayer games. i wont be suprised if i see more a lot more cheaters on kai as soon as this is compiled and released.
-
Is this out already??

although trainers are sweet in one player this is only gonna seriously increase cheating if its applicable to multiplayer games. i wont be suprised if i see more a lot more cheaters on kai as soon as this is compiled and released.
Trainers have been around for some time now. The ability to use trainers has been around just as long. I dont see why this would increase the amount of cheating.
Im not sure what numbers and statistics you are using to come up with this kind of idea, but I assure you, the end result of this is not more cheating. At the very worst, it just allows people, who are already "cheating", the option of using other dashboards rather than being tied down to Evox. Furthermore, the majority of trainer authors have coded their work to not work over system connect, so that would not be a huge concern.
Also, trainers are much more than infinite health or infinite ammo.
The majority of games do use health and ammo so lots of trainers will include the ability to have infinite health and ammo, but trainers still have much more to offer. A quick example will be a trainer we did for a group that was putting on a Halo2 Exhibition for the Video Game Awards.
We made a trainer that would allow for the onscreen characters to dance and move in sync with each other.
There are many more examples of this type of trainer. The authors of trainers are innovative and inventive people. The majority of the time the motivation behind training a game is to learn how the game coders coded the game and to use this knowledge gained to alter the reality of the game.
The end result of this motivation allows thousands of people to use trainers to play their games how they want to. We provide a freedom of choice and the means to employ this choice. We believe an individual should be able to play a game as they want.
When people choose to play online against others, it is their responsibility to maintain an ethical standard. If they feel like cheating then they will. Having trainers may allow for the option of cheating, but it is a humans character that makes them choose to use the trainer in an unethical manner.
Beyond all that, Im thinking the bottom line here is video games. We are talking about video games. I would think there are many events in life where cheating would be worse than cheating in video games.
We would hope that people choose to play fairly but as in any other facet in life there are people who just wont play fair. At the very least we are only dealing with video game playing, where the worst thing that will happen is our pride is hurt or stress level goes up.
I guess you have to weigh it out. Is the possible stress of someone cheating worth the playing of the game? Keep in mind all the fun there is to be had with your friends regardless of the minor stress of dealing with cheaters.
Just out of curiosity, has anyone here used trainers or cheats while playing online???
/Reason for edit: Making it alot more easy to read (Row changes, paragraphs....) as it brings up some very valid points...
-
Hi hope Mike hope you liked the graphical look of your logo, and got all the source for it. If you want it changed in anyway (including to your own one) let me know via pm.
-
we've tried to minimize the risks, by
a) obviously, not enabling trainers when launched from kai menu
adding a check for kai connected when u launch in normal mode (and disabling it).
of course anybody with a bit of coding skills could bypass them, but atleast we've done an effort...

ETM and XBTF are the extensions for Trainers, ETM was the original standard, while XBTF is a newer format (which I believe was developed by Xored and allows for more functionality and easier creation)
In order to use trainers, you either had to use Evox, or the Xored mini launcher. For many people, the only reason they kept EvoX on their box was to use trainers. The Mini launcher is a good application, but to have the same functionality built in to XMBC keeps you from having to launch another application to get to the same point. A minor annoyance, but it can make a difference.
Now on to the "Why would anyone use trainers?" I can't explain it for everyone, but for me, I like them. It reminds me of the old Game Genie you could use in the Sega genesis (not to date myself) Sometimes its good to have a little help. But it isn't always about the cheats, sometimes you have other functionality built into the trainer. If you check out the Max Console site, you can see the trainers and what they have to offer. If it is something that interests you, then you will like this release. If you don't want to use them, then you don't have to, and you probably wont care about this release.

naturally, u assume we made it that way on purpose! geez!
i won't even tell u how to fix your problem now.

No, I did not assume you made it that way on purpose!
I said, it does not work (fact)
And releasing something that can only be loaded on a VERY LIMITED config is stupid (fact)
So where is the assumption?
It does not load in the X2 bios either.
What the F*** are you on about ?
Release ? We haven't released anything. Last "release" was 1.1.0 sources.
CVS is in a constant state of change
with 99% probability, addition of Xored Trainer Engine are not what caused this issue (it's currently under investigation)
You registered just to bitch ?

QUOTE(LitterAss @ Jan 24 2006, 05:42 PM)

The new XBMC does NOT work with IND-Bios.
Also, all trainers must be fully Xored Launcher compatible.
And finally, why release something that is not compatible with one of the best and most pupular Bios' around?
That is idiotic.
Wrong. XBMC works just fine with the ind-bios 5003.

Can someone please explain what trainers actually do? I have searched this in the evox forum but I've still got some questions.
-Do trainers do a temporary fix to whatever your modding or a more permanent one?
-What does it edit? I'm mainly worried about being banned from Halo 2 Matchmaking because the 4d530064 folder got edited. Does it screw around with that stuff or the default.xbe or what? If you can use trainers with the actual game disk then it's got to be some editing with the E:/ folder right?
-Say I use a trainer, play the game, restart the xbox... Will EVERYTHING go back to being exactly the way it used to be?
I hope you can kind of see what's confusing me and help out. Thanks.

Hi'ya JayDee,
I would like to let you know that you should re-up your research on the current build of XBMC (As the previous builds, prior to 21.01.2006, work perfectly fine with IndBios.5003) does NOT work with the IndBios 5001, 5002, or 5003, I can verify this first hand on a 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 box (tried all 3 on each with 3 builds of the new CVS).
As well, there have been numerous reports of the X2 bios not working with the new build (they appear to be put in a 'reboot loop' if XBMC is the dash, and if not, it just returns you to the dash/launcher when you try to run the current CVS build (24.01.2006) with one of the aforementioned bios.
Now, by far am I NOT sticking up for that guy who obviously doesn't know what he's saying, I just want to clarify for other reading the thread through.
***It is still reccomended to wait for an actual release to come out with these new features. The CVS/Developer's Snapshot IS NOT FOR HE FAINT OF HEART!

that screwed XBMC into not booting.
It has already been fixed and should not effect any "normal" user out there and it effected all xbox´s independent of what bios was used...
I compile and update dayly, and have done so more or less for 2 years, so i do know that it works.
And there is a new T3CH build out: Read more here...
Untill i/we get or see some debug logs or some REAL bugreports that can be reproduced i toss these claims in the garbage bin as i know that 1: i have a clean working setup 2: Tried both x2 4983/5035 and indbios 5003 with 100% success (heck, i tossed in m8 just for kicks as noone mentioned it and still no faulty booting) 3: Havent seen any claims about it on mirc or the official forums untill this thread...
Please link to where these "numerous reports of the X2 bios not working..." are...
Maybe it is you that should do some reasearch and re-capping?
And last: Why should i lie about it working? 4 bios´s tested, all working. As it has always done (apart from some hours whilst cvs have been screwed)
P.s I even tried it on my softmodded box in the bedroom. Suprise suprise, it ran there too... D.s
Tested on a (chipped) 1.1 and a (softmodded) 1.6
My bet on this problem? PEBCAK
P.s 2

D.s 2
Just ask if you want me to up screenshots of the other bios screens...
-
I see, but as far as the builds go, the people using chips seem to be fine, as well, I have compiled this as of 30 mins ago, and I think my car will be without trainers for a while, lol...
(It's working fine now... No clue what happened, but I just did a clean install, and am NOT using as dash, works now)
Thanks Dude,

no worries if you want logos etc transfered over to all your stuff it will take a minute or so any size or any look...if so just contact me or XBMC team (spiff) I can very quickly convert resize for any purpose you guys have.
Cheers for trainers
-
I'm testing it now. It got stuck on "Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow +2 (NTSC) BETA" the first time updating the trainer list. It didn't freeze, becuase it was still making sounds when I pushed buttons.
I'm giving it another go now.
Edit: Now it's getting stuck on "Soul Calibur II +7 (PAL) v1.0," and I can't get past it. Does XBMC cache a trainer library like it does music and videos when you update the list? If so, how can I clear it?
-
Great work guys, it's beautiful. But, I am also getting the hang on SC:PT
Any thoughts?
-
ok i installed the 1-24-06 build and the trainers wont launch is there sposed to be a tab in my programs or somthing and in my files like i said they wont launch could some one explain to me how to use the trainers with xbmc and isnt the splash screen sposed to be different also
-
Teams XBMC and Xored working together...
Can you feel the synergy? I can.
-
Okay guys, sorry this may be a redundante question, but I have loaded the newest XBMC T3CH build 1-24-06 and I cant seem to find the trainer list anywhere. I checked my linking and its fine but for some odd reason I am seeming to have problems Launching it. Could someone please give me a clue LOL. OH BTW XBMC IS THE BEST DASH AND ONLY DASH I HAVE, use to have Evox for launching the trainers but I really dont like the set up of the Evox dash and its lack of luster. So if its not working yet give me a hollar. I am running the X3 ce with the newest bios. Just so you know.
-
I upgraded to latest build (XBMC-CVS_2006-01-24-T3CH) ... was curioius about the trainer function but I dont understand how to use it. I deleted my xored-engine from \apps just to make sure I wouldnt start that one. Well the only thing I could find in xbmx was the "update trainers"-option anyway that crashes everytime at trainer no 265 (I deleted all Soul Calibur 2 trainers.. still hangs)
-
Hmmm....
3 builds have not worked for X2 or IND-Bios users, yet someone got muted for saying so?
Well, mute me, too cuz that was arrogant.
Oh, wait, this is XBOX Scene...yeah. I forgot, arrogance runs wild here. No one helps anymore, they just flame, bitch and ban.
The RS build (on ** Torrent Site **), and 2 on the MaxConsole forums actually did not work, and that was the one LitterAss was using.
So in effect, he was right. Now, maybe he should have went about it in another way, but to mute someone for what he said when you have real asses on here flaming, bitching, abusing, and etc....well, seems extreme.
But I will be flamed and muted to because I am on XBOX Scene, and that is what this is all about, right?
Arrogance sucks.
Anyway, the T3CH build works fine with all Bios files.

You're not too bright are you now ?
You do know T3CH is the ONLY supported build on these forums ?
We don't give a rats ass about other builds, or the issues they cause.
-
Actually, I was trying to say that ALOT of people downloaded the RS build from Sky.
And alot of the issues that came up on other forums were, in fact, from that RS build.
I know the T3Ch builds are the supported ones, hell, they work!
My point was only to let people know who DID have trouble with other builds that they needed the T3CH build. Hence the statement I made, "Anyway, the T3CH build works fine with all Bios files."
My second point was to simply state, in my opinion, that muting someone for expressing an opinion about the RS build was rather arrogant and uncalled for. Wether you agree with LitterAss or not, he just stated a fact about a certain build.
But either way. People here ARE rather conceited and alot of it is uncalled for. But nothing changes when people post opinions, either, so I guess it does not matter. You cannot change people.
"We don't give a rats ass about other builds, or the issues they cause."
hmmm....sad. Ignorance is so rampant here.
