Hi all,
I've been searching all around the net and the boards to figure out my problem.
Initially I was using UnleashX and then running XBMC as an app.
But I recently changed it so that my black box would boot XBMC as default.
I used the Auto installer deluxe.
I noticed that it uses evox as well.
Now my problem is....
I noticed last night my ftp program could not recognize any folders past E
I figured I'd would just have to wipe the entire hdd and start a new.
I did that with the auto intaller (format retail hdd maxtor 120 gig) then installed the hacked dashboard into C... when done I installed the rest of the apps and emulators.
Proceeded to boot from dashboard via installer option (later I did it from fresh boot)
Now XBMC boots fine and beautifully quick.
Unfortunately I see all the but F and the cache drives.
When I go into system info it says "F Drive unavailable"
I was reading that I may have to reset some lines in evox or XBMC.xml to see the files, I might be wrong, but it seems that they are active and wouldn't a fresh format get rid of any of the settings?
I'm really pulling my hair out, I mean I dont really use the F drive yet ( I really wanted to just put music/ movies into F , which is my next step and perhaps some one could point me to the right direction as to how I would accomplish this).
I know the auto installer sees the space and recognizes it fine, but FLASHXP does not see any of the folders past E and the xbox does not as well
(btw I'm running Friendtech DreamX1480)
Any insight if greatfully appreciated.
Thanx in advance guys
Cez

ftp in and edit the mediacenter.xml file
there is a use f drive option
and a use drive g option
set use f drive to yes
let us know if thats ok

you softmodded? Did you do the option in their for a bigger drive? Standard softmod does e: only so for a bigger drive you need to install that .6 bios option.
Stick slayers in or something and see if it shows f: then format f: if it does.

I'm finally home (was at work when I was checking forums :-D)
I originally had everything working when I was running UnleashX as the dashboard and loaded XBMC as an app the f drive was always visible and so were the cache drives.
But formatted the entire hdd and put XBMC as my default dashboard
but now I cant seem to see F or the other drives....and now that i booted my xbox seems I get the error 21.
sometimes I get this, usually i just shut down and try again to hold down the button.
will post to see if I can change the settings on the xml.

You guys were right.
My appologies it seems I was looking in the wrong place.
By default both were xml's were set to no.
thanx for the Advice and quick replies guys. I think I found a new home for my xbox needs/questions :-D
PS whats the correct methodology in terms of backing up settings /preferences so I can easily update/avoid ignorant problems like this. :)
