ok...
They say that the definition of crazy is someone who tries the same thing over & over expecting different results. I tried installing again using the AID discs & it worked. The only thing I did differently is instead of seeing if it would install one app, I selected the "install all apps" action. Needless to say that after it did install everything I then had to delete everything I didn't need. But hey... it worked.
So, respond if you want, but my problem is solved.
