Firefox assumes somewhat more services provided by the host OS than are available on the Xbox. It would be possible, but would involve writing a lot of code to support the functionality it expects to be present. Too large a project for one person, I'd expect.

A tiny custom Linux distribution that just starts directly into Firefox and has little/nothing else in it would be much easier and would work more or less the same.

Linksboks *is* Links... it's just a version of Links ported to run natively on the xbox.

Works for me, and for everyone else I know, and none of us have a keyboard or mouse.

Firefox comes with X-DSL

Yah, but I was referring to a simplified, small linux distribution that would start directly into Firefox when you started it, and run nothing else. That'd be considerably smaller than X-DSL and would be pretty easy for even non-linux folks to use.

My Linksboks locks up almost every time I try to surf a little bit, I might get into the forums and then bang it will freeze.  Thought it was normal.... unsure.gif

Well, considering XBMC is in a v2.0 feature freeze, where as Surreal v2 was merely an idea, I'm going to go with, it's real.

Linksbox doesnt freeze for you guys?

I really gave it a try (probably a month or so and used it almost every other day) but it would load fine for a few web pages and then freeze.

And I mean consistently.  Tried the pimped build of xbmc with it and did the same.  Its very nice but was just way too buggy for me.

I can see a day of it working great tho and I cant wait.
