If you attach an Ipod to an xbox and it is formatted fatx....

Would you be able to attach an external hard drive to format it?

I have an Xecuter 2.6 chip, but when i turn it on it does this cycle thing where it will blink on/off twice then go green/red - My xbox was softmodded before the chip anyway

I wanted to use xbox hdm 1.9 to format it, but the only computer I can open up is my old Compaq Presario 5900T. (Rather not risk opening up my new comp). The problem is, the Presario only recognizes up to 40 gb hard drives. I have a 250gig i want to put in my xbox, and I've already checked and it is lockable.

Does anyone know if I can do anything like this?

It would format it for use as a memory card, which is a different disk layout to the internal hdd. You need to use xboxhdm - find another PC to use. You could also use a chipmodded Xbox...

does it really have to be fatx? what if all you want to do is recharge it? im always going to LANs that last all day and all night, and i just play and listen to my iPod and the mofo gives out, given it'll have 14 hrs. play back time but that still isn't enough. so charging? yes? no?

If you plug the ipod into an Xbox controller port via an adapter it will charge. If you go into the Memory screen on the MS dash it will promptly reformat the ipod as FATX without asking you for confirmation. Some homebrew software may also do this (though most won't).
