Title: Basic Interpreter

I don't know of any Basic interpretor... though I guess an open source one could be ported across.

If you don't mind learning another language, why not learn Python as the XBMC allows extension scripts written in Python to run though it?

You can use a USB keyboard on the xbox, just make your own connector. Or buy one. And, UnleashX has a built in text editor. I cant speak for XBMC though, although I think there is a file in the usual places that can be used. They just wont have syntax highlighting. sad.gif

I use an xbox with xbmc and have written python programs on it... it's a pretty cheap setup compared to a media centre PC, if you don't want to mod the box yourself there are plenty of people who'd do it for you... you can even pick up premodified ones from mod chip resellers and ebay.

The only problem is debugging - but the XBMC people are working on an emulator which can run on a pc.

Do a quick search on Google for Xbox USB cable. I managed to get a dell USB keyboard and mouse working through xbmc!

You don't have to replace the MS dash per say. A hacked bios will look for other dashes before it loads the default MS one. So you just add a dashboard of your choice named appropriatly for the bios you are using.

And wether you are using the default dash or a homebrew dash, you are still be able to play games.
