I've upgraded a 1.6 to a 200 gig hdd on a softmodded xbox using config magic.
I used a simple eeprom swap and lock on a TSOP flashed xbox. Everything went cool. I softmodded the 1.6 loaded config magic 1.6 final and backed up the eeprom. Then I transferd all the HDD over to the upgraded hdd on the tsop'd xbox. I loaded up config magic, loaded the eeprom from the bin file, updated the eeprom, and then locked the hdd. I turned the power off and put the newly locked hdd over on the 1.6
Perfect.
Now I come accross a 1.6 and tried to do the same thing. This time the eeprom wont read on the second xbox. So I load up the softmodded 1.6 and load up config magic and back up the eeprom again. After about 5 or 6 useless tries to read the eeprom on the upgraded hdd in the TSOP'd xbox I figured I'd try to find out what the problem was on the 1.6 it'self. Well low and behold I can back up the eeprom fine, I know this because when I back the eeprom up with evox the one from config magic matches exactly, but when I try to read the backed up eeprom in config magic on the 1.6 it gives an Error that it can't read the .bin. So I try the .cfg with the same luck. No matter what I did Config Magic could not read the eeprom it had just backed up. I tried updating the eeprom while the hdd was still locked to get the backup of the eeprom saved to Data and the regular eeprom.bin and the backedupbeforeeprom.bin matched exactly too.
Please help if you know what could be the problem. I honestly don't care about any program that will lock the hdd on my PC.
Could it just be shotty work on the part of Yoshi?? Cuz I hear he's known for that.
