Title: Linksbox Freezing. Any Advice?

Whenever I use Linksbox the browser freezes up on me for no apparant reason. There is no consistency on when it does this.

I downloaded my version about a monnth ago, did they release a did version or is my install bad or something.

Hmm...

Mine freezes, too.  I think it has something to do with the Temp. Internet files, or something overloading.  You will notice that the more bytes a site is the faster linksboks will freeze.

I don't know why, anybody?

i dont know if its temperary internet files cus mine frezzes on gamefaqs and not rotten tomatoes(some times) isnt gamefaqs a lot less in terms of size. and another thing. it usually doest freeze at the main sites but in the forums.

ist soooo stupid  :grr:

i heard the older version might be better? still in xbins?

which version is the best? and if its just temp internet files overloading, would that be an easy fix?

This happens to me too; my suspicion is that larger websites with more images eat up your Xbox's RAM. When there's none left, your box crashes much like when running bigger MAME ROMs. I have never had problems with simple forums, but things like Google image search or having too many tabs open will crash the browser.

Yeah, its something like that, because the program probably keeps loading the images or possibly storing them, and when the resources are used up, the program crashes because it doesn't know what to do with the new content that is downloaded from the website, instead of overwriting the stored content.

Just Speculation, but it shouldn't be too hard to fix...

i think I saw a post sometime when 0.92 got released that ysbox had recompiled it again and the freeze was gone. I think 0.92 should get re-released, same source as 0.92, to replace the broken linksboks floating on the net. The post should still be on X-S somewhere.

mine freezes up 2.props for the creator tho for the xbox web surfin'. maybe lbox should update it.

my linksboks only crashes when i try and download! ive put a destination into the options. does this always happen or is it just me?
i can have two windows running lots of pics no problem. ( i gotta hack myself a keyboard, this coloured box thing is toilet )

Only thing I have found is that it happens the most with Gamefaqs.

I downloaded the previous version and found that it doesn't lock up, BUT it won't let me log into things like yahoo mail or bulliten boards because it doesn't supportl SSL. So I use both versions. Sucks though.

Hope they release a new version that fixes it soon.
