| Well apparently you can get it working in DOSXbox. A homebrew release would be even better though, this is such a sweet game to play with a few mates. |
howd you get it running on dosbox? it just crashes back to dash when I try to run it
| QUOTE (lantus @ Mar 17 2004, 03:16 AM) |
never give up!
email me if your having specific SDLx issues |
Oh my god !!
thanks Lantus 4 your motivation! I felt i should try it a last time and i succeeded!
Jump n Bump has been successfully ported to XBOX

As soon as i have added more gamepads(have to wait for a fix because libSDLx has some joystick issues) and fixed some nasty bugs in the source i'll release it to the scene.Be prepared...
p.s.Hmm,it's time to code a little level selector

that update sounds great! i eagerly eagerly await this release. please keep us all posted!
Really cant wait to play this. Good luck with it, as its a great game.
im really looking forward to this game on xbox, its pure fun
respect
can't wait man!
is there an expected release date, or even *beta* testers

You'll have to wait until lantus releases a new libSDLx version, cuz the current build has some gamepad bugs.
So at the current stage JNB does only have support for one gamepad(and a keyboard i suppose, but i don't own any).
A simple level selector is almost done.I'll post some better screens once i'm finished with this stuff.
UPDATE : creating a level selector is harder than i thought :-( .looks like the first release won't have any..

Uh yeah I tried it again and I couldn't actually get it to work, I just thought I remembered it working, wishful thinking I guess.
Doesn't matter anyway as it sounds like freakdave's had a success. Can't freaking wait.
OK,just as i promised,here are some better sreens :

Exactly... <
Oh thats awesome. =) I hope Lantus can fix the gamepad issues pretty quick. Thanks for doing this. I wouldnt have gotten aroudnto it until june. <
seems fake to me look at the original pictures and look at these, better , there the exact same pictures i dont think this new guy has ported anything , ether some way he got it working in dosbox or there just pictures of the game on the tv , ( like through XBMC look at a jpeg , i mean look at the over scaling n shit) plus there the exact same pictures! <

maybe u need some glasses to see that it is no fake.the better screens were taken on a friends' xbox, just for testing purposes(at this time i only had one level:this might explain why all screens look similar).I know, the game isn't scaled properly.I'm working on that.So please don't flame around and wait until it's released... <
Please dont give up on this port, and dont listien to twats who try put it down. <
that wasnt a put down, if you are porting it more power to you, but im a really sceptical person , i was just voicing my opinion wether you wanted to hear it or not. <
Any update on when SDLx will fix that bug? I really want to play this! <
bump <

| bump |
as far as i know this bug has been already fixed.I guess lantus is still fixing/testing his code.don't be so impatient
besides my xbox needs to be repaired (mod fragged

).
This will take approx. 2 weeks from now on..
I'll be patient. haha, I just realized I should have put a "literally" next to that bump ;) <
still having problems with the level selector? try this for redirecting to another xbe:

Thought i might give a little update:
I recompiled the game using lantus' 0.09 libSDlx . Unfortunately i'm not able to test it now because my XBOX is dead (R.I.P.) This is why i am now searching for 4-6 betatesters. Requirements: - don't be a leaker - you must own MORE than 1 gamepad - i expect you to give me detailed bug reports,as my work depends on it
if u think, you can meet this requirements, just drop me a PM including your email.Maybe you will be one of the lucky guys ;-) I'll contact the betatesters at the end of next week. Good luck
|
Betatesting-Team is now complete. Please no more PM's concerning betatesting JNB.Thank you.
Sent.
Damn, I would have been a beta tester for ya.
ok,now the project (as well as some other projects) has a new website:
http://www.angelfire.com/on4/jnbx
any news concerning the Jump'n'BumpX port and Abombniballx port will be posted there.
a forum is in the works,too..

I just fixed the launcher code, we now have a fully working launcher.
Couple more private tests, then it'll be released
word, a stat screen would be tight.
also, the -fireworks toggle NEEDS to be implemented somehow
the only outstanding bugs for me is the mouse cursor in the top left corner, and the phantom spring towards the top right
great work guys

| Yea theres just a few more bugs/features to work out. But so far its looking real well. Japan, see about binding ESC to a button real quick so we can make sure the end of match stats screens work. |
i'm working on that.it seems like i'll have to rewrite the whole input code.hope this will fix the d-pad issue...

Thats ok.
I'll put that in a config file, and you can change the fireworks on the launcher menu by presseing thewhite button, or something like it.
Just re-coding the launcher atm, making it nicer to look at, and getting it working

Overall, it's coming along well, considering i joined 3/4s of the way through, i'm enjoying it, i'm learning from it too.
I'll expect a release soon
so what's going on ? ?
visit our site 4 more infos.
All updates will be covered there....
freakdave's XBOX SDL-ports
the site/board is updated every day..
it's just 97% for a long time... can you guys somehow make network play? because at Jump 'n Bump site there is NETWORK PLAY option so there is way to play it online using PC
98% = Release Candidate 1
99% = Release Candidate 2
100% = Public Release v0.3
I´ve looked into the network code of JnB,but i doubt we could make it compatible with i.e.XLINK or any other tunneling system. We'll see what we can do.The first public release won't have any networking functions though...
