Title: 1.6 Softmodding

:uhh: I have about given up with trying to softmod my 1.6 box (K:5838, D:5960). Has anyone successfully done this? I've loaded EvoX through the 007 exploit no problem. FTPing no problem. But reflashing the BIOS.... No dice. I've tried so many different things. PBL 1.3, PBL-Lite, Metoo 1.4.1, UDE2. Can someone give me a hand? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Try a UXE installer.

You dont re-flash anything for a softmod.

Yes v1.6 xboxs have been successfully softmodded.

You need to use either UDE2/UXE.

UXE is the latest softmod, and works with every xbox.

There are several packages on xbins.

and how do you use uxe to soft mod your xbox??? ( i'm a noob @ this)

ive done a couple 1.6 using both ude and uxe. could never get the 61 file to work (clock error) but the 71 file in the set worked both times.

once you ftp in, if your doing it manually, just copy the UDE files to the c drive.

well i have a 1.6 pal.. and i've read that i should use the uxe!! but i dont have 2 change something ??? could some one explain it step by step..., cause i'm stuck @ this point.. :$:$:$:$

I have the exact same setup (PAL Crystal) and softmodded it fine using UXE. I used this guide and the ltools_007_1.7.5 to get FTP access to the XBOX.

I am also trying to softmod my 1.6.
I've already got the uxe package with the folder c and e
But my problem is: I dont know how to get these files on the harddisk of xbox.
Does anyone know how to accomplish this without opening the xbox.
I believe i need a original game of mecha ssault and some savegame, i also know itools has something to do with it but i cant possibly find ltools 1.8 anywhere despite how hard i tried.

Yep you need a gamesave hack or you can hotswap (requires opening the xbox thou)

This is what I used:

a) 007 Agent Under Fire (Classics) from HMV, £20
b) XBOX Action Replay rom GAME, £20
c) ltools_007_v1.7.5, fonts6171, metoo-m8plus-v1.4.1, fontpatcher, uberpatcher and the Evolution X 3935 Dash from the usual places.
