Title: Halo Skin Locations

So ive pretty much figured the skins are located in the save file but i was wondering if anyone knew the hex address of the skins or if someone from the Teams (or people) that hacked DOA could explain the basics of it id be in thier debt. well thanks for any help.

Just from a programmer's standpoint, I'd say the actual skin data is not saved in the saved game file. I would say that the saved game contains a reference to which skin is used by the player.

Any chance halo skins could be stored in the same way as they were in half life. IE, you have a sort of packed data file, (wasn't half life just a .zip renamed to .pak?) that keeps all skins sounds textures etc. If it could be opened then i suppose you can do as you wish.

I think when he means saved, you run the actual program halo, and check your Y: dive after youll have lot of .map cache files in there.

got that, but you can only go so far once you hit a "game loading" point itll freeze up if you can somehow change the skin to enemy, that'll be kewl
