Title: Xtoolbox - Suggestions Appreciated
Post by: Sgt_Solo on May 20, 2003, 11:16:00 AM
Hi all,
       I've just installed xToolbox and I'm having a nightmare trying to get it to see my PC.

Host.ini

My computer]
IP         =   192.168.1.100
Port         =   21
Passive         =   1
KeepAlive                      =   0
Username      =   username
Password                      =
Initial folder      =

I get 10061 connection refused.

I'm running through a Linksys router, but I've turned off any software based firewalls.
Should I be looking at putting something into the Port Triggering section of the router ?

My other suspicion is that UI don't have a password to logon my PC, so I left the host.ini blank for that section ?

My IP address of the PC is 192.168.1.100, the Xbox is 192.168.1.101 (these are the IP addresses I presume are assigned by the router).

It's not of any importance, as I can FTP to the XBox via FlashXP.  I just wanted to fix it and understand what I might have done wrong ?

Thanks in advance...

The host.ini file is used to identify how xToolBox should log on to the FTP server running on your computer. If you don't have an FTP server running on your computer then xToolBox will not be able to see it either.

xToolBox doesn't support SAMBA or any other protocol.

You can use xToolBox as a straight forward file manager on your xbox without the need for host.ini, but as mentioned, if you want to be able to connect to an FTP server you have to create entries for the different FTP servers.

Btw. you don't really have to manually edit this file - just press the White button on your controller when the 'right' hand side pane is the active one and you'll be presented with a menu that says e.g. 'Add FTP server...'

What settings do you use to FTP between two xbox's then?
