how did youg et the game to load? what exact files did you copy from your original quake 2 cd? i copied the whole baseq2 folder to my quake2x folder and it still didn't load. the readme didn't say what to copy.

Zombi -- Quake2X dosn't support keyboard and mouse, only xbox controller.
duceyaj -- install Quake II from your cd-rom to your PC. Copy the contents of the quake 2x archive over the INSTALLED quake 2 (PC) directory. Copy the entire installed directory over to your Xbox.
If you want the equivilent of CD-sound on the xbox, use a CDDA to WMA ripper and rip the 10 music tracks (tracks 2-11 on the Quake II cdrom) from the CD onto your pc. Rename the tracks as 01.wma, 02.wma, etc. Place all of these in a directory called MUSIC underneath whereever you have Quake2X's default.xbe.
In general -- Skins do work with Quake2X, so you can have a deathmatch between Homer Simpson and Eric Cartman if that tickles your fancy. Also, as noted in the docs, you can network with your PC and deathmath/co-op between it and the Xbox. Just make sure the version of Quake II (PC) you have is version 3.21, or you will have to download a patch to get the networking to work.

does anyone know if the wma has to be a certain birate? Does level 1 have music?

i also can't get the music to work yet. I just used win media player to rip the tracks @ 128 Kbps. default.xbe is in e:\games\quake and the music is in e:\games\quake\music. i thought this would work...
