Title: Xbox Mouse
Post by: BenJeremy on April 27, 2003, 10:45:00 AM
No.

There is NO SUPPORT FOR A MOUSE in the BIOS.

You did a search, so you know this already.

Until Team Xecutor or somebody with similar skills adds support, it isn't going to happen.

If you want to use a mouse on the Xbox, use Linux.

What does the bios have to do with anything? I'm saying you could use your computer to pretend it's an xbox controller. You wouldnt need any modchip in yer xbox. Its already been done with the "claw" i mentioned earlier. The claw makes the xbox think a normal controller is connected (emulates it) and allows you to use a mouse. If they can get the claw to act as a controller, surely a computer could be made to work as well.

Yes, the having some sort of intervening device to emulate a joystick with a mouse would be interesting. I'm just re-iterating that the BIOS doesn't naturally support a mouse, before some fool goes and plugs it into his Xbox and wonders why Halo won't work with his mouse.

So what's wrong with "The Claw"?

The claw isnt available yet, they have developed a working prototype. There hasnt been any new info on it for quite a while. Hopefully M$ hasnt convinced them to discontinue the project.
