I assume my problem i s BIOS related, so I hope this is the right place to post. First of all, I am quite new to xboxes and I have successfully been using a modded xbox with the original HDD for a while now. This weekend I tried upgrading to a bigger Hdd, a 160 GB Hitachi Deskstar, I had lying around.
My system is a 1.6b xbox with SmartXX LT OPX v2 chip. I am using a X2 5035 bios, the filename is "x2_5035_v16plus_512k.bin". As a dashboard I have only been using xbmc, but this weekend I also installed Avalaunch.
What I did;
-complete backup of old HDD
-Installed new HDD as a slave on the DVD cable
-Using the HDD menu in the SmartXX OS I copied the existing partitions to the new HDD
-Formated f: using the SmartXX OS
-The system works fine but free space on f: is only 126GB
When I start a dashboard and start boXplorer is says that the total space on f: is 149 GB, but that free space on f: is only 126 GB. If I have understood everything I have read correctly this is due to a problem with my BIOS not supporting drives larger that 136 GB, right!?
From what I have understood I now need to patch my bios file and re-flash it. To do this I have downloaded x2 config maker v50350. Under LBA48 options I tried opening my BIOS .bin file (x2_5035_v16plus_512k.bin), but the program just says "Unsupported BIOS". Am I just doing some small misstake here or am I completely lost!? Please help clarifying things for me!
Thanks in advance,
Niklas
