I wanted to upgrade a HDD in a softmodded xbox with a chipped console! Chipped console is a 1.6 console and the softmodded xbox a 1.1 xbox! I downloaded the EEPROM from the softmodded xbox to my pc and I flashed the chipped xbox (DuoX2) with the eeprom from the softmodded xbox with configmagic! Everything was right, but when I turned my xbox off and on, it doesn`t boot anymore (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif) 1.1 eeprom doesn`t work with 1.6 console? And can I recover this shit with a SmartXX for example? PLZ HELP !! I did this flash shit before with another DuoX2 chipped console and it went fine...

why not just use xboxhdm to unlock with the old eeprom and lock with the new one? a little safer it would seem. not that it helps now >_<

You are going to want to get your hands on flashbios 3.0.3 unauthorized with embedded eeproms. Get it from xbins in xecuter bioses folder.
How you get that on the chip is up to you. I know it'll work on a Doux2, cause I've done the same thing and used a DouX2 + flashbios unauth to fix it. It should work on your chip too.
Once you get flashbios loaded, select the correct eeprom version for your xbox, and flash, turn the xbox off, on, then flash your original eeprom back.
Next time, either use XBHDM or use liveinfo beta 3 (windows app) to change the Unique HDD key on the CORRECT version eeprom. (Do not try to just load an eeprom, change versions and save, it won't work.)

Thank you, but to know for SURE, cause I need to do it again for another friend (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I put the HDD (to use in a softmod) in a chipped xbox, make it bootable with software, install the SID etc etc.. And THEN I need the same EEPROM from the chipped xbox, I copy the calculated password (I first put the HDD I want to lock in my pc and load LiveInfo) to the section: unique hdd key, and then I reflash the (edited) EEPROM with configmagic, lock the HDD and it`s done?? The problem is I DON`T want to lock the HDD with my pc !!!!
I didn`t know that the unique hdd key was the same as the calculated password (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

i do this all the time when i am soft modding..
I grab the original eeprom from the soon-to-be-softmodded box.
Bring it into windows & use liveinfo to convert it to the correct version of the second box(already modded box).
THEN.. after converting it.. I flash the first eeprom to my modded box.
I place the new hard drive in the modded box (with the newly flashed eeprom)
I then lock the New Hard drive with the eeprom from box number 1 (softmod).
Now just pop it in to the softmod box.
since u locked it using it's original eeprom, it will now work on your softmodded box.
Now you can reflash your second box back to it's original eeprom..
sounds confusing, but I do it all the time.. I also have a third box that I always leave open & handy to pop in new drives & flash eeproms if i need to. I use this box for experimenting & loading up new drives..
hope this helps..
BUT key thing from what u forgot to do is to use LiveInfo from Config magic guys..

That`s my method also
I just forgot to (didn`t even know it was possible) convert the EEPROM to the exact version! With LiveInfo Beta 3 I only can convert to: 1.0/1.1/1.6 what do I have to choose for 1.4 or 1.0 for example??

...not sure.
Only time I ever soft mod a box is if it is a 1.6. BUT I'd be interested in knowing he answer to that..
I too had noticed that it only has options for 1.0/1.1/1.6
Maybe they are the same until you reach a 1.6?!? Not sure.. I'm guessing that based on the fact that on the 1.6 the xboxbios & eeprom are on same chip...
