Title: 1.6 Temp Issues
Post by: Alex548 on May 13, 2006, 12:25:00 AM
1.6's don't have temp sensors (M$ skimped a little to save money).

Any readings you see through the dashboard are inaccurate. The only way to get good readings is to install some sensor probes yourself & connect them to an LCD display.

They do, they just report differently.  I read that the XBMC team managed to interface with them properly recently.  Try the latest T3CH CVS release.

You can take my word for it.  I just got my 1.6 up and running again and XBMC is reporting my temps as this:

CPU: 118.02 F
GPU: 114.08 F

Previously UnleashX reported all temps as about 138 F.  This is the latest T3CH release.  If it was my debug box, I'd take a screenshot (the left thumbstick screenshot feature brings up the trainer browser now).

Well, according to my temps, the CPU is about 20 F cooler thanks to my Vantec Stealth  biggrin.gif

I'm sure it's not pushing as much air out the back though...

It says 140 for CPU and I can only feel cool air out the back,  I dont see it being that hot in there if cool air is out the back of the case.  Crazy..
