What error are you getting?
unkown flash type / bios wrong size?

If it the flash type you'll need to edit your evox.ini and add the correct " flash = "
here's a list <link> but i didn't see SST49LF002B. You might have to do more research to find the right line.

If the bios is the wrong size... make it the right size (use EBtool/EVtool/x2ool/etc.)
or use a bios that's already the right size.

the message says "SST49LF002A" instead of "SST49LF002B"
that might be your problem. Are you sure it's a B instead of an A?

Most likely your chip could be flash protected. Read up on your chip and see if it has it, first of all, and second how to turn off the flash protection.

Another possibility is that the evoxdash is the problem. I've heard some people say that evox sometimes sucks for flashing. Freezing  at start/ after the erase/ etc

I know there's other ways to flash, but i've never had a problem so I can't tell you how to do it using other means.  Some one else will have to tell you the alternatives

You have Evox so you should be able to FTP to your Xbox. I have never had good luck with evox and flashing. I use FTP to flash the Bios.
I use flashbios (there should be a readme to tell you how to install it on the chip) and flash using the onscreen instructions.

^^ he can't put flashbios on his chip because he can't flash his chip.

Jagunso

you can flash with using raw FTP commands (I don't know how though)
you can also flash using a flash disc. (I don't know how though)

Hello, not sure if you have resolved this yet, but i am researching a similar error, and found this fix.
It might apply to your chip.

this is taken from another forum:

QUOTE
I talked to xenochip and there seems to be a mistake on some of the xenoFX with red color PCB regarding a flash type bridge on the PCB. The PCB is configured for SST49LF020A but the flash is SST49LF002B.

IPB Image

In order to write enable the flash in this case you need to move a solder bridge as showed on the image above. There could be a small resistor on the PCB instead of solder, but it is zero Ohm, so just make a solder bridge as showed on the image above (or move the resistor).

* CAUTION! *

Make sure you don't bridge all three solder pads as it will short out the xbox, power straight to ground!

Hope this helps.

OK guys, I was finally able to flash this aladdin. I had to remove "desolder" the 0 ohm resistor from the 2 points and solder the other 2 together like in the picture above, then I had to use Eurasia 1.3. Evox, Slayers and Spiderchip flasher all won't work but Eurasia 1.3 does. Hope this helps someone else out there with this issue.
