Post by: TWood on September 30, 2005, 08:27:00 PM
What is best for a 2.6ce on a 1.0 XB and a 250MB HD.

Thanks,

Twood

That's a choice for the user really, the only + I can see between the two is if you use the X2 bios, you can use Live Config, and that you are using a bios that the chip manufaturer supports, that being said, the latter doesn't make much of a difference, as M8 works flawlessly anyways, so, the only + imo, is the Live Config with the 5028.

X2.5035 is pretty much the best bios out there for older modchips! ... as it's the most full featured bios your ever gonna get.... plus it's like they said above you can configure it by using the x2config.ini file (which you transfer to the E drive)

if your xbox is already up and running (which it obviously is) .... i strongly recommend you use "FlashX v1.2" to update your bios to x2.5035 etc as it's very easy to use and straight forward (NOTE: this ONLY work on Xecuter 2.x modchips!, which yours is)

flashx v1.2 is a application that you run on your xbox... and also just transfer your the bios you want to flash to something like E:\BIOS\ (as this is one of the places flashx v1.2 looks for for it's bios files)

once the app is loaded up you can pick which bank you want to flash the bios to (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ... be it either 1+2 or 3+4 ... normally you can choose from banks 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 but since the X2.5035 bios is 512KB in size, flashx will only offer you 2 choices... 1+2 or 3+4 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

this program i have used countless times over the months/years and it's never failed on me ever.

I'm a noob for the second time around (did the whole mod thing a year or two ago and have since forgotten all the ins and outs) - after a ton of reading, ThaCrip has finally given me the answer I need!  Just wanted to say thanks!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
