Ok, I've searched the forums and found questions to some of my answers but not all. I am still a little confused about some of the things I need to do. I just installed a Xenium Ice w/ Pinheader and stock harddrive. Right now I have the X2 4983 and EvoX M8 Bios on the chip. I have a 300GB Seagate that I am planning to install in the next few days. My questions are: do either of the bioses I currently have, support harddrive over 137GB? If not, what would you recommend? Basically I am just going to run Slayer's once I put the HDD in and format it that way.

Can anyone answer my quesiton or give any recommendations?

Both support >137GB hard drives if you have LBA48 enabled (which is done when you create your BIOS using xbtool or evtool)  It comes as default enabled if you edited anything in your BIOS using one of those tools.  If not, just edit one of them while enabling LBA48 and flash it to your chip and you should be set.

And don't forget, for a 300GB hdd, you want a 67 bios, that is lba48 support with a 137GB F and the rest on G. (An 06 bios is good for up to 256GB).

Ok, so basically what I need to do is:

FTP my xbox to my computer, then backup all of the files on the original harddrive. Then open up EVTool (will it detect my xbox?) and then EVTool will update the BIOS accordingly? Is that basically the process that I need to go through?

Ok, I'm really sorry for posting so many replies, I did not mean to at all. Last thing, I have on my computer a BIOS that I got from the "usual place" called 4891.67_bfm_fixed.

Now when I download this from the "usual place" I got it from the BIOS section which had a folder that said DO NOT FLASH THESE TO YOUR MODCHIP on the top. There was nothing in the folder, so Im guessing it was referring to all of the BIOSes under that folder (the one above being one of them)? Am I misunderstanding something, can I flash the bios above to my chip or not?

DO NOT flash a BFM(Boot from Media) bios to your chip. I've never had to use them, but I believe those are for booting from CD, or loading a temporary BIOS to memory. Use the standard 4891.67 edited with XBTool(or m8, as posted).

I managed to get the harddrive in without breaking it. When I went to load a game to the HDD, it detected ~271GB. I was suprised by this, but happy that I dont have to get a new BIOS or edit anything (Although I probably will later). Anyone know why 29 GBs are missing?

Mine does the same thing. I think FATX formatting takes some space(not sure though), maybe it isn't reported correctly, because depending on the dash, I get different results.
