| OK--now I've tried pbl 1.4.1 and the 4981 bios but it simply won't boot into evox. I get to what appears to be the reading of xboxrom.bin and it is a black screen. Old phoenix and evox I get messed up video--new phoenix and evox i get no video. For all intents and purposes, this should work--but it's not. Shitty, i gotta get an older box. Perhaps my new phoenix default.xbe is corrupt or unsigned--who knows. My advice--do not get a new box--what a pain |
let me guess, kernal 5530?
The first new box tried was a 5530 kernel--no dice----but, the second one i tried was a 5101--a version verified to have worked. The sort of effect the loader is producing looks more like a macrovision type assault on the hack than a death nail like the xbox live update--I'm willing to say that it may be hardware induced--try popping a mod chip on the new ones-the board have been changed.
Only use old machines. I grabbed an used box after returning the new ones and the sucker worked first shot--was even lucky to get one that played cd-r media--who knows how long these bad boys will stick around--get ready for a dss style consolidation of old hardware
Like I said--I just went and got an old box. I tried 1.4 pbl but I was running through the advanced cable, so I wouldn't have known. It would kind of suck if you couldn't play through the advanced av setup. Well, I hope everyone else gets new boxes to work better than me. No need to get upset that I didn't look in the correct forum. I did, afterall, use the gamesave exploit to get into the machine and then utilized the font exploit to replace my dashboard--so, I suppose my group should've been called the gamesave/font exploit/dashboard exploit section. Sorry if I ruffled any feathers.
No one's upset. I'm just trying to say that you'd get better support in the Dashboard Exploits forum.
Also, with an advanced A/V cable, PBL will flicker, but it will clear itself up after loading a BIOS that supports Focus. Anyways, I guess it's a moot point now.
I had thought I had all the requisite bios to use with 1.4 pbl but I kept just getting a black screen when the boot process hit pbl--which led me to believe that I had a selection of crap files--probably a bad default.xbe. I kept figuring I'd reach some sort of boot menu if xboxrom.bin couldn't boot--just black.
The old 1.3 with evox seems to be working good--any reason to upgrade bios and pbl if i'm using an old kernel and video card set up?
Only if you want to be able to use a selection menu to choose what BIOS to load.
On some bioses I use I just get a black screen, on others it starts reading (whole bunch on words pop up) then it just sits there.I havent been able to get it to boot past the bios selection screen. What could be the problem?
and could someone just please make a mechassult package for this thing. Thanks
I haven't gotten the PBL to load with the Advanced A/V pack once yet on my xbox, it loads when i put the standard a/v cables on but when i put the advanced pack back on, it doesn't show anything but a black screen after the xbox logo, if there's a work around to this i'd really like to know, i do softmod installs and i run the exploits on my box before i install them on other box's and it'd really suck if one of the people i did an install for got an advanced a/v pack and forgot what i told them
bump, NEED HELP.
