hi. i may get castrated for this, but ill ask anyway. i have a softmodded 1.6 box using slayers' 2.6. i have the m8 bios. i wanna update it to x2. possible? how? someone wanna point me to the right tutorial or simply walk me through it? thanks a heap........i think.

Just make sure it's BFM and _16plus type X2 bios they should be on Xbins bios folder in a BFM folder. You have to replace bios.bin on your E drive I think with the BFM one might be wrong so be carefull!

Considering you would have to use an old (=<4983) X2 bios, here's really no advantage to changing your softmod from EvoX M8 -> X2. The new X2 50xx series is not available in BFM (Boot From Media) format, so unless you can figure a way to do that on your own you're up a creek. In any event, the only reason I see for wanting to switch to X2 is the Xbox Live blocking, and if you're running the "metoo" version of M8 already (this is packaged with a lot of exploits) you already have it. It's not worth screwing your softmod up and having to redo it.

thanks, orakle. ill keep the existing bios. by the way, does uxe enable xbox live blocking? thanks.

Yes I believe the bios that UXE installs for hard-drive softmods does.. but I don't really like to push my luck so I try and avoid clicking the XBL tabs anyway. If you've flashed your TSOP, it may be a different story - I'm not sure exactly what you've done.
