config magic didnt do anything other than what you told it to do.  I dont think people that blame applications on their mistakes deserve much help, but...
Yes you can fix it with a modchip, this is because the bios on the modchip (which will boot with an unlocked hdd) will load instead of the MS bios (which requires the hdd to be locked)
OR
you can lock it with a pc IF you backed up your eeprom prior to your recent mistake..

I don't know much about softmods.. But could a TSOP flash fix this?

and does configmagic generate a backup of the hdd key so i can lock it again? will a boot cd boot onto the xbox if it wont boot games?

Hello,

yes, Configmagic makes an Backup of your HDD-Key. On C. or E:-Drive.

Take your unlocked HDD and plug it into an PC an get the file with the HDD-Backup-KEY.

Then lock your HDD with the PC and then return to XBOX and everything will be fine.

BUT BE CAREFUL!!! Locking with wrong key will kill your HDD (unless you know the right key)
Look in Tutorials section. There you can find Tuts on how access HDD with PC. There is not need to hotswap, because your HDD is already unlocked. Yust plugin PC and access with the tools.
There is another TUT on how to lock the HDD with PC. BE CAREFUL and read twice!!!

think that will solve it. thanks to all who helped me out...im gonna go do this once i get a torx screwdriver lol
