Title: Softmod Dual Boot Mode
Post by: snipes420 on December 02, 2004, 05:43:00 AM
Which method did you use to softmod it? if you used the ltools (sounds like it) then there will be a config file in the root of the C partition. i forget the name right now. sorry. but in it, it names 2 bios files one for when the drive is open, one for when the drive is closed. just make them both the one you want to use.

BTW I might be confusing this with the Phenix bios loader. I havent used Ltools for over a month. Look into it anyway.

Try looking in the file E:\BiosLD\boot.cfg

I just reinstalled ltools on my xbox to look at this.  As you can see I chose the Pheonix Boot Loader Metoo option to be installed. it might be different if you chose nkpatcher.

Here is the first bit of my boot.cfg file

# PBL Metoo Edition configuration file
# This is the bios image file loaded at boot. It is loaded from the same
# directory default.xbe is in.
Romfile xboxrom.bin

# This is an alternative bios image. If you define it, it will be loaded
# when you boot your Xbox with the DVD-tray open.

#AltRomfile xboxrom2.bin

I am thinking you could uncomment the AltRomfile line and change xboxrom2.bin to xboxrom.bin it will boot the same no matter if the door is open or closed.
Hope that helps

rofl, you need to COMMENT it, or else it will load it when its open. so if it is open with a comment in the cfg file, there will be no alt rom to run, and hence running the primary one. (the only one)
