i would like to upgrade my bios to the evox M8 on my tsop flashed xbox. i have the M8metoo1.4 pack. but i dont know what exploit was used because i bought the box off someone. i do know that i have searched all the partitions on my xbox and i cannot find any biosLD folder or anything that looks like it might be my bios. i tried flashing the chip with the slayers_2.6 disk and it said that my xbox must be write enabled and asked if i would like to continue. i clicked yes and it said "erasing", but it dint erase. im guessing that my chip must NOT be write enabled. everything still works on my box except DOA UTIMATE DISK 2. which i have tried backing up several differnent ways. the doa 2 discs wich i backed up play fine in my buddies box who has an executer chip. i know i need to uprgade my bios to play this game and possibly others in the future. what i dont know is how, i have a general idea what to do with the PBL and EVTOOL but im not sure if this is even what im supposed to do. i see all this talk of UDE UXE UXE2 and thees fonts and such. but my xbox knowledge is not that advanced since i didnt do the modding myself. i think im on the right track with having the PBL load the patched M8 BIOS off of my hd somewheres. but im not sure if i have to have a certain exploit to do this? does this PBL just load the bios without having to reflash the onboard TSOP? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as im sure this bios will be very helpful to me. but then again if doin this wrong could mess up my xbox then i think id rather not take the chance. anyway thanks alot to the xbox-scene forums and all the users as they have helped me out many of time in the past and im sure again soon.
