Retail 4132 in xbins? It's actually misnamed and misplaced hacked bios:
|
Thanks for the headsup on that, i never bothered to check it out

Makes me wonder about the 4627 that they dumped now, whether it is the genuine 4627 or something else.
Ya thanks for the help on the version 1.0, I know on the motherboard it has a sticker with the kernel #, but I've only seen it on the v1.0. Is there some chart somewhere with what bios will work with what version?
Thanks

Not that im aware of, though i could be wrong. I usually work on it by this...
1.0 = 3944 & 4034
1.1 = 4627 & 4817
1.2 = 5101
1.3 = 5101
1.4 = 5713
1.5 = 5713
1.6 = 5838
Ive missed out 5530, but thats only because i cant remember if it was on 1.3's or 1.4's (i think 1.4s), but if you use original BIOSes to the key above you should be fine.

| Go to the m$ dash and then go to settings. There is a tab that says about (or something like that, I think it is the last selection) when you select it it scrolls through the leagal stuff from m$ about hacking. At the end of the paragraph it give you two numbers, K and D. K has your kernal (ex. 1.00.5101.01) |
And how is that going to help him find which retail BIOS to flash back to his TSOP? That'll just show him the kernel ID of the hacked BIOS he has flashed to it, which isnt what he wanted to know.

This is a really stupid question and I know better, but why are all the retail bioses on xbins 1mb?
The TSOP from v1.2 onwards was only 256k.
Am I missing something? |
Because when you dump the BIOS using EvoX backup feature for example, it always makes it 1MB.
EDIT: Typo
Ok, i have two questions. First, i have 1.1 xbox and i wanna know which original bios is right for my console? Btw, already tried with 4817(which is not working), so is there only 4627 else to try?
And the second question, if i have 1Mb bios, that i got from xbins, how do i make it 256k?
Cheers, BigdaddyS
