Title: Evox M8 1.6 Issues

Well i just modded a 1.6 with a xenium ice, and upped it to os 2.1

i flashed it with evox m8 (m8_16.bin)

well the dashboards (m$ and evox) work fine, but if i ever play a game, whether my original, backup dvd, or backup on hdd, it freezes usually five or so seconds into the game, usually at the intro movie or main menu.

so could it be possible i missed something important about 1.6 xbox's?  or maybe ther'es a better bios?  any help woudl be appreciated.

What game have you tried?
Is the Xbox in the proper video mode (PAL games often hate running in NTSC, NTSC games often hate PAL, unless it's PAL-60).

I'm having some problems with the M8+ and M8+_16 bios.  It's on a PAL V1.6 box with and Akira 2 chip, 120Gb HDD (also has a mod/retail switch but doesn't seem to work, it's always on).  EvoX runs fine and in full color, but when I try to run a game it comes up in black and white.  A quick fix has been to run the box in NTSC mode, but this will cause problems with me later when I try to run PAL specific games like Enter the Matrix.

Maybe the bios' do have some serious prolems that were not found in the origional build.  Hopefully they will bring out a fix soon.

I dont know the details of the 1.6/1.6b issues because people around here are so hesitant to share anything, but i had a similar problem as you emailer.  My box didnt appear to be a 1.6b but as games crashed in extremely routine ways i came to the conclusion it just might be, so i installed the M8plus_16 bios.  It solved the problem completely in every game ive tried. hope this helps!

I did a mates box the other day 200gb hdd xenium ice M8 16 bios. Transfered games and alot would freeze at intro's etc. Fault seemed to lay in the clock and date settings, he ran the games before setting the clock -  deleted all game saves and game cache set the clock and all are OK...  Accept for enter the matrix which comes up with a dirty disc error when run. Now I know the game files are OK because we transfered from his xbox to a ver 1.1 and the game works plus it worked on my 1.0 ..So what is the deal with this game? It only seems to have dramas on a 1.6...  Have done all the usual game cache and saves removal and set the clock but this one is strange...Also tried the M8 16 plus... No go !
